Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Roman Lenkov (ranked 2879 p4p, 3544 weight class) and Diego Farias (ranked 270 p4p, 323 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Diego Farias was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Roman Lenkov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Diego Farias!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Steve Smith and Ian Loll.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.
Farias with a poor takedown

and Lenkov counters with a left hand that sends Farias to the canvas!

It looks like Diego Farias has been cut.

Farias has his foot on Lenkov's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Lenkov works his way back into a safe position though.

Farias is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Lenkov is aware though and is defending well.

Lenkov drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Farias manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Lenkov has Farias in his guard.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Lenkov is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Farias must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Lenkov escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Farias gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Farias is sitting in close to Lenkov's body. Lenkov has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Farias is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Farias is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Lenkov.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:45 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Roman Lenkov!
