Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Markus Wachter (ranked 1916 p4p, 2645 weight class) and Jeff Winslow (ranked 243 p4p, 311 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 1 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Markus Wachter! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jeff Winslow! The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Tarja Halkonen and Ben Zyskovitsi.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Winslow displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Wachter throws out the jab. Winslow throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Winslow slips under a jab from Wachter. Winslow feints the counter takedown. Wachter is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Winslow. Winslow drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Wachter defends it well. Wachter definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Nice defenses there by Winslow. The fighters circling - Wachter throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Wachter takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

and Winslow counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Winslow slips a nice elbow through Wachter's hands, connecting with Wachter's forehead. Well, if Winslow is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Winslow thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Wachter's head. Winslow is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.

Winslow trying to control the position from guard on top but Wachter is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Winslow slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Winslow keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Wachter's head. Winslow looking to sit in guard and control but Wachter gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Wachter won't allow Winslow to sweep him here. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Winslow can do anything to dispel that myth. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Winslow is on top in guard.

 That's two minutes gone in the round. Wachter avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Winslow wants to control from the top but Wachter keeps moving. Winslow throws an elbow that misses. Wachter uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Winslow's guard. Nice move by Wachter!

 That's three minutes gone in the round. Winslow looking to control.

Winslow makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Winslow. Wachter will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Winslow working a defensive guard here.
Winslow trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from! Winslow is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Winslow is looking to sweep but instead, Wachter has passed into half guard.
Wachter tries to stand and escape but Winslow is controlling the position. Winslow wants to sweep but Wachter has passed to side control! Winslow tries to get back to half guard but can't. Winslow tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Wachter presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount! Winslow is trying desperately to improve position.
 That's five minutes gone in the round. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Winslow keeps trying to improve his position. Winslow is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Wachter looking to control but Winslow is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Winslow tries to hold on but Wachter postures up.
 That's six minutes gone in the round. Winslow tries to get back to half guard but can't. Winslow bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done! Winslow throwing strikes from guard but Wachter blocks nicely. Winslow throwing strikes but missing. Winslow lands a couple of decent looking shots.
 That's seven minutes gone in the round. Winslow in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Winslow throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Wachter works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Winslow is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Markus Wachter has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Winslow trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Winslow looking to sit in guard and control but Wachter gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Winslow is trying to control the position but Wachter postures up. Winslow tries to land a sweep but no joy. Winslow wants to hit a sweep here but Wachter passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Winslow there! Winslow tries to reverse the position but Wachter maintains control. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
 That's eight minutes gone in the round. Winslow tries to lock up and control but Wachter gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Wachter wants to stand but Winslow is holding on to him, trying to stop him posturing up.
Winslow manages to regain half guard. Good work. Winslow is trying to maintain the position but Wachter is very close to passing his half guard. Winslow is looking for a sweep. Wachter is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
 That's nine minutes gone in the round. Winslow trying to control from the bottom.

Wachter escapes and gets back to his feet. Wachter misses with a looping right. Winslow ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Wachter moves away. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. A slow jab from Wachter misses its intended target. Winslow misses with a body punch
and Wachter counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Wachter throws a looping overhand right but Winslow ducks down to avoid it. Winslow shoots in but Wachter avoids the takedown attempt easily.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Markus Wachter. I think Wachter has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
