Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Takeda Shida (ranked 49 p4p, 666 weight class) and Kristoph Kringle (ranked 8 p4p, 90 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 30 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Takeda Shida! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 25 - 14 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Kristoph Kringle! The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Yukihiro Shimada and Yuuki Gou.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Shida lands a nice shot that snaps Kringle's head back.
 It looks like Kristoph Kringle has been cut. Shida has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Kringle. Shida takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
The fighters circling - Kringle throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Nice cross by Kringle. A slow jab from Kringle misses its intended target. Kringle with the inside leg kick. Kringle misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Shida counters with a nice uppercut. Kringle connects with a leg kick. Shida moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. Kringle lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Shida takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Kringle tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Shida avoids the body shot from Kringle.

Shida tries to work over Kringle's front leg with a kick but Kringle checks it. Kringle throws a leg kick which misses Shida's front leg but catches the back leg as Shida tries to avoid it.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Shida moves out of range as Kringle strikes. A nice leg kick from Kringle, right into the meat of the thigh.
Kringle misses with a wild body shot. It looked like Shida wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit. Shida looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Nice body punch from Kringle. Shida fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Kringle. Kringle swings away with a body shot that misses
letting Shida counter with a right hand. Shida swings and misses with a shot to the body and Kringle counters with a nice leg kick. A jab from Kringle misses. Kringle pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Shida throws a quick counter head kick but Kringle was just out of range. Kringle throws a series of strikes that have Shida backpedaling.
Kringle scores with a hook to the body. Shida takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. Shida slips under a jab. Shida ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Shida steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Kringle. Shida throwing a counter right hand but Kringle manages to avoid it. Shida checks the leg kick.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. Kringle throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Shida sees it coming and avoids it easily. Kringle throws a shot from downtown. Shida moves away and avoids it. Kringle misses with a wild body shot. Kringle swinging wildly here.
Kringle throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Shida. Kringle darts in and out, connecting with a jab. A looping hook to the body misses from Kringle. Shida does a little dance to reset his feet. Shida throws a head kick but Kringle moves out of range.

Shida's corner calls for a 1-2. Shida obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. Kringle on the wrong end of a nice hook. Shida takes one on the chin but keeps coming.

 That's three minutes gone in the round. Shida walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. Shida misses with a hook. Kringle blocks the body kick.
Kristoph Kringle seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Kringle throws a looping overhand right but Shida ducks down to avoid it. Kringle scores with a hook. Kringle dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Shida avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Kringle fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Shida has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage. Shida avoids the body shot from Kringle.

Shida is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight. Kringle throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land. A low kick lands for Kringle.
Shida uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Kringle. Shida throws a counter high kick but Kringle was just alert enough to avoid it. Shida misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Kringle.
Kringle only half commits to the counter leg kick.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. A big left from Kringle misses. Kringle throws a leg kick but Shida moved away. Kringle throws a big shot that misses. Kringle scores with a crisp jab that stopped Shida in his tracks. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Shida has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Kringle. Kringle misses the shot to the body. Shida ducks under a wild hook from Kringle. Shida feinted there with a counter leg kick. Kringle misses with a double jab
and Shida counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Shida on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. Kringle moves out of range as Shida throws a body kick.
Shida closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so. Shida chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Kringle can pounce on him.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end. Kringle fails to land with a series of punches.
Shida stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Kringle. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Kristoph Kringle dominated that round. The cut man is working on Kristoph Kringle's cut. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Shida checks a leg kick nicely. Shida lands with a nice body kick. We are yet to see a takedown attempt from Kringle in the fight. On paper you would think he is the more dominant ground fighter so let's see if these unusual tactics pay off. Kringle throws a shot from downtown. Shida moves away and avoids it. Kringle bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut. A looping hook to the body misses from Shida. Kringle does a little dance to reset his feet. Kringle pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Kringle throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Shida. Kringle misses with a low kick.

Shida jinks towards his opponent looking like he wants to counter with a mid kick but doesn't commit. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kringle waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Shida. Shida cracks Kringle with an open hand slap. Shida is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
 That has opened up Kristoph Kringle's cut even more. Kringle looks to land a right hand but Shida moved out of range. Kringle has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Kringle walks into a stiff left hand from Shida.
 That's one minute gone in the round. A jab from Kringle misses. Kringle misses with a leg kick. Kringle uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Shida has time to react. Kringle wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Shida moves out of range as Kringle strikes. Shida throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Kringle on the side of the head.
 The cut above Kristoph Kringle's eye is starting to cause him problems now. Kringle throws a poor cross that misses
and Shida counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Shida is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches. Shida throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. Kringle throws a hook but Shida blocks it. The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Kringle. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man. Kringle takes a body punch but keeps moving. Shida moves out of range as Kringle strikes. Shida is looking to counter punch. Shida ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Shida slips under a jab from Kringle. Kringle fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Shida manages to avoid it.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. Kringle takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Shida takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. This entire fight has taken place on the feet so far and you wonder whether Shida might be better served trying to take this one to the ground because he's losing the standup battle so far. Kringle listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut. Shida takes one to the side of the head.

Kringle cracks a nice hook into Shida's ribs. Kringle takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away. Shida throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Kringle throws a lazy right hand but Shida sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Shida staying out of range there. Shida throws a jab when Kringle was well out of range. Kringle avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Shida takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Kringle takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
 Kristoph Kringle's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
The referee calls the doctor in to look at Kristoph Kringle's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:06 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Takeda Shida! A relieved looking Takeda Shida thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
