Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 1 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Donny Carlisle!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Paul Sanchez!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Shigeki Fujiwara and Tatsuya Matsuyama.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sanchez keeps the fight on the outside.
The crowd cheers as Carlisle lands an impressive looking overhand right. Sanchez doesn't seem phased though.
Donny Carlisle seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Carlisle tries to close the distance and clinch but Sanchez swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Carlisle connects with an inside leg kick.
Carlisle cracks Sanchez with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the ropes.
Carlisle's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Carlisle duly obliges.
Carlisle fails with an attempt to clinch.
And Sanchez tries to counter it with a takedown but Carlisle pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Carlisle dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Carlisle pivots, looking for a leg kick but Sanchez is out of range and Carlisle settles back down.
Sanchez takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.

Carlisle forces Sanchez back against the ropes and clinches.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Carlisle lands an elbow inside.

It looks like Paul Sanchez has been cut.

Carlisle makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.

Sanchez has picked Carlisle up - he's going for a ride! Sanchez dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.

The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Sanchez wants to lay and pray for a moment but Carlisle keeps working.

Carlisle wants to control but Sanchez is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Carlisle is looking for a sweep. Sanchez is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Sanchez lands a nice short elbow.

Sanchez won't allow Carlisle to get back to his feet.
Sanchez works over Carlisle with some ground and pound from guard.
Carlisle looking to hit a scissor sweep but Sanchez is one step ahead there.

Carlisle utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Carlisle on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Carlisle tries to get out of the position.
Carlisle tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Sanchez looking to sit in guard and control but Carlisle gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Sanchez controls Carlisle momentarily but Carlisle frees himself.
Carlisle trying to control the position from guard on top but Sanchez is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Sanchez is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Sanchez looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Sanchez is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Carlisle defends well.

Carlisle got a little sloppy there for a moment and Sanchez has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Carlisle has managed to get both his arms back between Sanchez's legs - danger averted.
Carlisle content to stall in guard here.

Carlisle is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Carlisle wants to stand but Sanchez is controlling his posture from full guard.
Carlisle wants to control from the top but Sanchez keeps moving.

Carlisle is sitting in close to Sanchez's body. Sanchez has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Carlisle is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Carlisle is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Sanchez.

After winning the bout, Paul Sanchez thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
