Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the super heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 0 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, King Kooljak!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Brenden Haney!
The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, Steve Montenegro and Franklyn Lucas.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Haney darts in trying to clinch
and Kooljak connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
It looks like Brenden Haney has been cut.
Kooljak lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Haney circles away quickly and effectively.
Haney looks like he wants to counter punch here.
Haney scores with a jab to the jaw.
It looks like King Kooljak has been cut.
Haney tries to clinch but Kooljak moves out of range.
A quick step to the side and Kooljak tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
Haney has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Kooljak looks to score with a jab to the body but Haney is just out of range.
Kooljak keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Haney.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Haney misses with a left hand
and Kooljak cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Haney doesn't manage to clinch there - Kooljak circles away.
Haney fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Kooljak manages to avoid it.
Haney is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Kooljak lands a slapping body shot.
The fighters circle momentarily. Haney darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Haney misses with a hook
and Kooljak counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Kooljak feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Haney sprawling to the canvas! Haney rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Kooljak finish him?!
Haney is rocked!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Haney has Kooljak up against the cage in a clinch.
Kooljak lands a body shot.
Haney looks winded!
Kooljak breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Haney throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Kooljak counters with a big right hand! Oh Haney is in trouble here! Kooljak follows up with more strikes and that's it! The ref has stopped it!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:49 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). King Kooljak!
