Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Walter Hahn (ranked 2180 p4p, 2035 weight class) and Afonso Mendes (ranked 251 p4p, 229 weight class). Afonso Mendes has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 1 rounds, in the heavyweight division.

With a record of 3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Afonso Mendes!
The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Yuuki Gou and Taro Takaoka.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mendes shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Hahn as he jumps to the side.
Hahn has Mendes up against the ropes in a clinch.
Mendes tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Hahn tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Mendes avoids it.

Mendes has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Hahn is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Mendes.
The referee asks Hahn politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Hahn prefers to stall for the moment though.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Hahn in particular looking to stall.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Hahn connects with a nice short shot to Mendes's temple.

Hahn gets to his feet and stands over Mendes, holding his ankles. He dives in with a big left hand that connects! Mendes felt that one! Hahn unloads more punches and elbows and this one is over! The ref has dived in to save Mendes from any more punishment!

During a confident post fight interview, Walter Hahn thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
