Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between John Hill (ranked 26106 p4p, 3268 weight class) and Josiah Baker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Josiah Baker has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, John Hill! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Josiah Baker! The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Paulsen Ambrosius and Patrick Alders.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hill gets a clinch.
Hill breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Baker connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Hill's hands.
Hill gets in close and instigates a clinch. Baker lands a nice uppercut. Baker is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Hill pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Hill breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Baker has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Baker slaps away a takedown attempt from Hill, before circling back to the center of the mat. The fight stays on the outside here - Hill looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Despite the aggression on Baker's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Hill checks the leg kick. Hill tries to close the distance and clinch but Baker swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Baker wants to counter the offense by Hill and move into the clinch position. A low kick lands for Hill.
Hill misses with a takedown and Baker counters with a left and a right that stings Hill. Baker lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Hill circles away quickly and effectively. Baker fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Hill feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Baker trying to strike off his back.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. Baker controlling Hill's posture. Hill tries to stand but Baker is controlling from the bottom. Hill will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Baker trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage. Hill trying to stand up but can't free himself from Baker's guard. Hill won't allow Baker to sweep him here. Hill would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. The referee is pacing around the two fighters, thinking about a standup.
Hill avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
 The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. The fight stays on the outside here - Hill looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Baker throws a right and a left that Hill avoids nicely. A nice leg kick from Hill, right into the meat of the thigh.

Baker instigates a clinch. Baker has Hill pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Hill manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Hill gets underhooks to prevent Baker's takedown attempt.
John Hill has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Josiah Baker.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. Baker wants to take the fight to the mat but Hill manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch. Hill tries to score a body lock takedown but Baker shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Baker breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Hill gets a takedown into half guard. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Baker trying to hold on to Hill's head to control him but Hill postures up.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Josiah Baker dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
A thudding body kick lands there by Hill!
Hill blocks a leg kick. Baker misses with a jab, cross combination.
Hill misses with a hook. Baker moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination. Baker falls off balance throwing a combination
and Hill counters with a straight right hand. Baker has been the more effective fighter overall so far. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Baker moves into range and clinches up with Hill. Baker has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Hill after a bit of a struggle.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Baker tries to score a body lock takedown but Hill shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Hill wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Baker has him pressed against the cage. Hill tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Baker smiles and moves away.
Hill does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Baker smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button. Josiah Baker is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Baker blocks a head kick by Hill.
Hill moves out of range of the body kick from Baker.
John Hill is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Hill misses with a takedown attempt
and Baker holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. Baker prevents the takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for John Hill. That's going to take a lot out of him. Hill looking for a takedown. Baker drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Hill is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Baker to keep the fight standing.

and Baker counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Baker.

Baker throws a right and a left that Hill avoids nicely. Hill appears to be looking for a big counter. Hill dives in and grabs Baker's left leg, looking for a takedown. Baker pushes down on Hill's head and hops out. Baker with the counter takedown but Hill avoids it easily. Hill throws a right and a left that Baker avoids nicely. A right-left combo lands from Baker. Baker keeps the fight on the outside. Baker drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Hill defends it well. Baker swinging wildly here.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. Hill closes the distance but Baker moves to the side and Baker counters with a two punch combo. This has been an exciting period of action! Baker avoids a kick to the body.
Baker looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it. Baker moves in looking to clinch but Hill pushes him off. Hill slips a jab and a cross from Baker.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Baker swinging wildly here.

Hill seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter. Hill takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. Baker connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head. Hill fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Baker looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Baker uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Hill. Baker lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Nice body punch from Hill. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Hill tries for a takedown but Baker sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Baker has taken the fight to the clinch.

Baker throws a half hearted mid kick. A clash of legs there as Hill blocks the low kick. Baker throws a leg kick and Hill counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Hill shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Baker as he avoids it easily. Hill tries to close the distance and clinch but Baker swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Hill looks to land a combination but Baker avoids it well. Hill gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Baker counters with a nice uppercut.
And that's the end of the fight! Josiah Baker comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Baker winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
