Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Luuk Benjamin (ranked 17 p4p, 32 weight class) and Jimmy Nguyen (ranked 3 p4p, 5 weight class). Nguyen has chosen In One Ear as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the featherweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 33 - 16 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Luuk Benjamin!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 22 - 2 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Jimmy Nguyen!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Yukihiro Shimada and Yasuomi Hirokawa.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nguyen shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Nguyen is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
A looping hook to the body misses from Benjamin. Nguyen does a little dance to reset his feet.
A left lands for Benjamin.
Benjamin throws a jab when Nguyen was well out of range.
And Nguyen tries to counter it with a takedown but Benjamin pushes his down on his head and steps out.
A head kick misses from Benjamin.
Nguyen swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Nguyen closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Benjamin makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Nguyen dives in and grabs Benjamin's left leg, looking for a takedown. Benjamin pushes down on Nguyen's head and hops out.
Nguyen throws a hook but Benjamin avoids it easily.

Nguyen throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Benjamin on the side of the head.

Nguyen lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Benjamin at a distance.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Benjamin throws out a leg kick but Nguyen moves out of range and Benjamin only half commits.
Nguyen looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.

and Nguyen makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Benjamin lands a head kick. Nguyen smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
It looks like Jimmy Nguyen has been cut.
Nguyen shoots for a double leg takedown but Benjamin sprawls well. He's pushed Nguyen's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
As Nguyen looks to move away, Benjamin throws a big counter combo but Nguyen just gets out of the way.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Nguyen, as that shot connected.
Benjamin takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Benjamin feints and then cracks Nguyen's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Nguyen down.
Luuk Benjamin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Benjamin lands with a cross.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Benjamin enables Nguyen to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Benjamin manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Nguyen with a flurry of punches that miss.
Nguyen loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Benjamin wants to stand up but Nguyen is controlling him.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Benjamin utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Nguyen trying to control but Benjamin is working from the bottom.
Benjamin is looking to stand up but Nguyen isn't so interested in that idea.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

That's time! Benjamin's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Nguyen lands with a nice body punch.
Benjamin lands a really nice looking cross but Nguyen seems unphased.
Benjamin throws a jab but it's blocked by Nguyen.

Nguyen has been working his punching technique in the buildup to the fight and it appears to be paying off.

Benjamin lands with an uppercut that bounces Nguyen off the cage and back into range.

Benjamin throws a leg kick which misses Nguyen's front leg but catches the back leg as Nguyen tries to avoid it.

Nguyen throws a monster overhand right that drops Benjamin! Nguyen follows up with more strikes from mount and the fight is all over!
