Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ken Shamrock (ranked 1349 p4p, 963 weight class) and Matt McDonalds (ranked 36 p4p, 26 weight class). Shamrock comes to the cage accompanied by Dangerous Entrance Theme. Ken Shamrock has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Ken Shamrock!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Matt McDonalds!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Frank Antenori and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.
Shamrock fails to land the takedown.
Shamrock shoots for a takedown but McDonalds saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
McDonalds changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
Shamrock throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around McDonalds's waist but McDonalds gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Shamrock off to one side.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ken Shamrock. That's going to take a lot out of him.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

McDonalds felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.
Shamrock has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Matt McDonalds's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.

During a confident post fight interview, Ken Shamrock thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
