Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Repa Pulkkinen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 21 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Liwa Kursiwa!
The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, Phil Schofield and Donald Grub.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kursiwa with a lazy takedown attempt
and Pulkkinen counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Kursiwa is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
A slapping leg kick lands for Kursiwa.
Liwa Kursiwa seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kursiwa throws a body kick, spinning off balance

and Pulkkinen counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Kursiwa is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Kursiwa wants to control but Pulkkinen is keeping busy.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Kursiwa has Pulkkinen pulled in close to control his posture.

Pulkkinen is looking to stand up but Kursiwa won't let him.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Kursiwa fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Pulkkinen avoids it really well and circles away.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Kursiwa closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Pulkkinen did well to prevent Kursiwa getting side control.

Kursiwa drops back, looking for a kneebar! Pulkkinen looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Pulkkinen looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Pulkkinen!

Kursiwa struggling a bit here.
Kursiwa wants to get back to his feet but Pulkkinen is dominant here and he's now got Kursiwa's back!
Kursiwa prevents his opponent from getting back to his feet.
Kursiwa rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.
Kursiwa is trying to stand.

Kursiwa wants to improve his position but Pulkkinen is controlling well.
Kursiwa keeps trying to improve his position.
Pulkkinen tries to stand but his arm is trapped.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Kursiwa is trying to get back to full guard.

That was a close round but I would say that Repa Pulkkinen will probably get the nod.
That's time! Pulkkinen's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Kursiwa gets a clinch.
Pulkkinen is pressed up against the cage. Kursiwa has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Pulkkinen down to the mat. Pulkkinen avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Kursiwa lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Kursiwa closes the distance and clinches up with Pulkkinen, looking for a takedown. Kursiwa pushes Pulkkinen against the cage but Pulkkinen circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Kursiwa throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Pulkkinen looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kursiwa lets loose with a powerful body kick. Pulkkinen will feel that in the morning.
Pulkkinen displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Kursiwa.
Repa Pulkkinen has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Liwa Kursiwa.

Kursiwa fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Kursiwa shoots for a takedown but Pulkkinen saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Pulkkinen looked to counter that last move with a leg kick but didn't pull the trigger.

Kursiwa shoots in looking for a takedown. Pulkkinen tries to sprawl out of it but Kursiwa keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Pulkkinen manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Kursiwa throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Pulkkinen's waist but Pulkkinen gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Kursiwa off to one side.
A quick step to the side and Pulkkinen tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
Kursiwa tries to work over Pulkkinen's front leg with a kick but Pulkkinen checks it.
Repa Pulkkinen is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Kursiwa looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Pulkkinen half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
Pulkkinen checks the leg kick.
Kursiwa misses the shot to the body.
Pulkkinen attempts a counter takedown but Kursiwa avoids it well and moves away.
Pulkkinen gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Kursiwa shoots for a takedown but Pulkkinen saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Kursiwa looks to score with a jab to the body but Pulkkinen is just out of range.
Pulkkinen lifts his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick.
Kursiwa shoots in for a takedown but Pulkkinen shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Kursiwa drives through with a takedown into guard.
Kursiwa stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Pulkkinen swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Kursiwa wants to control from the top but Pulkkinen keeps moving.
Kursiwa stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Pulkkinen swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Kursiwa misses with an uppercut. Pulkkinen saw that one coming.
Pulkkinen is looking to counter with a shot to the body.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Liwa Kursiwa showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Liwa Kursiwa seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Kursiwa shoots for a double leg takedown but Pulkkinen sprawls well. He's pushed Kursiwa's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Kursiwa lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Pulkkinen leaves Kursiwa with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
A head kick misses from Kursiwa.

and Pulkkinen counters with a two punch combo.

Kursiwa shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Pulkkinen sprawls well. Pulkkinen wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Kursiwa gets slowly back to his feet.
Pulkkinen appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
Repa Pulkkinen has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Liwa Kursiwa.
Kursiwa connects with a nice looking jab.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Kursiwa shoots in but no luck this time.
And Pulkkinen counters with a quick kick to the body but Kursiwa blocks it.

Kursiwa gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Pulkkinen lands a left hand that snaps the head of Kursiwa backwards.
Kursiwa's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!

Kursiwa is rocked!
Pulkkinen lands a shoulder strike.
Kursiwa is still on wobbly legs! Can Pulkkinen finish him?
Pulkkinen lands a big knee to the head and Kursiwa goes down! Pulkkinen pounces and finishes the fight with strikes! He jumps to his feet and celebrates with the crowd!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:45 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Repa Pulkkinen!
