Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lemuel Denver (ranked 58 p4p, 205 weight class) and Douglas Sampson (ranked 8 p4p, 28 weight class). Denver comes into the arena with Марш нової армії blaring out of the sound system. Sampson has chosen Sunshine (ft. Anthony Hamilton) - Twista as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Lemuel Denver could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Douglas Sampson's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the heavyweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 20 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Lemuel Denver! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 33 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Douglas Sampson! The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Radbod Blank and Nard Betker.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Denver takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Sampson tries a head kick but it misses.
An attempted straight right counter from Denver misses the target. Sampson throws a shot from downtown. Denver moves away and avoids it. Denver moves out of range as Sampson throws a body kick.
Denver is looking to counter with a shot to the body. Sampson pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Denver drops down looking for a counter takedown but Sampson sprawls and moves away. Denver moves out of range of the strikes. It looked like Denver wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit. Sampson swings widly with a right hand
and Denver counters with a lovely straight right hand! Denver moves out of range as Sampson strikes. Denver swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect. Sampson misses with a looping left. Sampson misses with a hook
and Denver counters with a single leg into guard. Sampson didn't expect that. Denver with a flurry of punches that miss. Denver throws an elbow that misses. Sampson uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Denver's guard. Nice move by Sampson!
 The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Denver is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Sampson won't allow Denver to sweep him here.
Denver is looking for a triangle but Sampson pushes his legs off easily.
Denver had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Sampson defends it easily.
Denver has his foot on Sampson's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Sampson works his way back into a safe position though. Sampson postures up.
Sampson wants to control from the top but Denver keeps moving.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Denver lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.
Sampson looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. Denver advances to half guard. Sampson felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it. Denver thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Denver not landing any meaningful shots this time. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Denver lands a nice short elbow. Sampson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Denver. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Denver is working for a kimura but Sampson is defending it quite comfortably.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. Denver uses his free foot to push down on Sampson's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Sampson. Denver with shots to the head and body - Sampson looks very uncomfortable down there. Sampson wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Denver.
Denver looking for a guillotine from mount but Sampson is having none of it. Denver wants to control the pace but Sampson is squirming around nicely. Sampson is in a horrible position here. Denver smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. Denver wants to control the pace but Sampson is squirming around nicely.
Denver wants to finish this one by submission but Sampson is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Denver. Denver sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Denver is in the full mount, landing strikes. Sampson squirming around on the bottom, looking to escape.

Denver raining down shots from the mount! This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Denver throws some wild stikes that Sampson manages to avoid easily.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Lemuel Denver dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Sampson pushes Denver away with a front kick. Sampson swings away with a leg kick that misses. Denver appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body. Sampson throws a head kick that misses
and Denver counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Sampson! Denver moves into full mount! Denver controlling from the full mount. Denver looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
Denver thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage. Sampson tries to reverse the position but Denver maintains control. Denver can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Sampson is looking to escape.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Sampson is in all sorts of trouble here.
The referee warns Sampson that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Denver goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Sampson is on top in guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Denver bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Sampson's guard.

 That's two minutes gone in the round. Denver sitting in guard here, content to control. Denver trying to control but Sampson is working from the bottom. Denver trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Lemuel Denver overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Sampson avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Denver throws a big elbow that misses.
Denver has gone for a leg lock! Sampson slips out almost immediately though and dives into Denver's guard.
Denver keeping moving, preventing Sampson from controlling successfully.
Sampson got a little sloppy there for a moment and Denver has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Sampson has managed to get both his arms back between Denver's legs - danger averted.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. Sampson won't allow Denver to sweep him here. Denver is trying to keep Sampson in close.
Denver is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Denver is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Sampson can do to turn this around?
 That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Denver missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
Denver seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Sampson is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:25 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Lemuel Denver! Lemuel Denver retains his heavyweight title! During a confident post fight interview, Lemuel Denver thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him. Douglas Sampson was interviewed post fight and said 'Nothing goes over my head… my reflexes are too fast, but my famously huge turd pre fight left me feeling dizzy and I was seeing double vision the whole fight'.
