Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Grant Hyde (ranked 167 p4p, 433 weight class) and Deanthony Pederson (ranked 27 p4p, 53 weight class). Hyde comes to the cage accompanied by Darkside-Neoni. Deanthony Pederson is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 17 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Grant Hyde! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 23 - 10 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Deanthony Pederson! The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Steve Smith and Elvis Blanc.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pederson bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Hyde's head backwards. Pederson avoids the head kick by Hyde.
Hyde stuffs the takedown. Hyde lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Hyde misses with a hook. Pederson pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Pederson defending well as Hyde loads up on a big left hand. Pederson looks to land a right hand but Hyde moved out of range. Pederson bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Hyde lands a jab to Pederson's midsection.
Pederson looking to score a takedown here. Hyde is defending well but Pederson drives through and ends up in Hyde's guard. Pederson postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Pederson trying to control but Hyde is working from the bottom. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Pederson tries to free his leg and advance position but Hyde is retaining full guard.

Pederson feints and as Hyde raises his hands in defense, Pederson changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Pederson wants to control from the top but Hyde keeps moving.
 That's five minutes gone in the round. Pederson's corner is telling him to maintain position. Pederson won't allow Hyde to get back to his feet. Pederson looking to pass the guard. In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Pederson working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Pederson sitting in guard here, content to control. Pederson with a flurry of punches that miss. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Pederson wants to control from the top but Hyde keeps moving.
 The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Hyde swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Pederson uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Hyde has time to react.
 That's six minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. A left lands for Pederson. Pederson lands with a nice body punch. Hyde misses with a hook. Pederson ducked under it nicely. Hyde takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming. Hyde looks to throw the jab but Pederson is out of range. Hyde swings for the body but Pederson moves out of range.
Hyde looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Pederson avoids the body shot from Hyde.

Pederson closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Pederson lands in his opponent's guard. Pederson trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Pederson postures up in Hyde's guard and throws a big left but Hyde blocks it.
 That's seven minutes gone in the round. Hyde wants to stand but Pederson is controlling the position. Pederson wants to control from the top but Hyde keeps moving. Hyde avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Hyde keeping moving, preventing Pederson from controlling successfully. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
 The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Pederson moves out of range of the body kick.
 That's eight minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Hyde throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Pederson throws the left hand but Hyde avoids the punch easily. Hyde throws a lazy uppercut
and Pederson counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Hyde! Hyde taking punishment in the form of punches.

 That's nine minutes gone in the round. The referee asks Pederson politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Pederson prefers to stall for the moment though.
Hyde bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet! Pederson is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Hyde. Nice uppercut there from Hyde. Hyde throws a hook but Pederson blocks it. Pederson drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Hyde defends it well. Pederson shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. It looked like Hyde wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit. Hyde drops his hands momentarily and Pederson takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. A swing and a miss from Hyde. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Hyde swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Pederson ducks under a wild hook from Hyde. Hyde misses with a looping right. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Pederson darts in looking for a takedown but Hyde gets double underhooks and turns Pederson into the cage. Pederson shoots in for a double leg but Hyde sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. A little feinted left hand from Hyde on the counter but he doesn't commit to it. Hyde misses with a wild body shot. Pederson feints the counter takedown. Hyde keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Hyde is looking to counter with a shot to the body. Grant Hyde has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Deanthony Pederson. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Hyde throws a body shot but no joy. Hyde misses with a body shot. Hyde lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. Hyde fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Pederson has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage. Grant Hyde is winning the standup battle so far. Hyde fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Pederson manages to avoid it. Hyde has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Hyde there as he acknowledges the shot. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Hyde cracks Pederson with a right hand to the side of the head. Pederson ducks under a wild hook from Hyde. Pederson scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. Grant Hyde seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Hyde feints and then cracks Pederson's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Pederson down.

Pederson trying to control the position but Hyde is working away. Pederson working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.

Pederson tries to land with some ground and pound but misses. Pederson landing with strikes to the head and body from side control. Pederson wants to lay and pray for a moment but Hyde keeps working. Deanthony Pederson has got the better of the ground game so far.

Hyde defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Pederson. Hyde is trying to stand. Pederson lands with some strikes. Hyde blocking the ground and pound. Pederson lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Pederson controlling from mount. Hyde is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
 That's six minutes gone in the round. BOOM! Pederson connects with a massive shot to the dome!

 That's seven minutes gone in the round. Pederson takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Poor strikes thrown by Pederson there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!

Pederson has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Pederson with shots to the head and body - Hyde looks very uncomfortable down there. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. The referee warns Hyde that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
 Hyde is rocked! Pederson softens up his opponent with a couple of shots there and then CRACK! One massive shot lands there and Hyde is out cold! Pederson jumps to his feet and celebrates on the cage with the fans, who are, quite frankly, going absolutely mental!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 8:56 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Deanthony Pederson! In his post fight interview, Deanthony Pederson started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
