Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jordan Ruiz (ranked 2705 p4p, 5285 weight class) and Abdul King (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jordan Ruiz has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 5 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jordan Ruiz! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 7 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Abdul King! The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Shigeki Fujiwara and Hirohito Nitta.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! King tries for a takedown but Ruiz circles away easily and Ruiz counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Ruiz looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. King fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Ruiz is looking for a counter combo. Ruiz keeps the fight on the outside. Ruiz misses with a head kick.
Ruiz lands with a slapping head kick. Ruiz feints and then cracks King's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow King down. King tries a head kick but it misses.
The fight moves into the clinch position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Ruiz lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt King or not. Ruiz scores with a hook to the body. King trying to control the position but instead, Ruiz has worked for underhooks and has pushed King into the cage. Ruiz putting his Muay Thai to good use. He has King in a tight clinch and is doing some damage with knees to the body. King looks winded!
 That's one minute gone in the round.
Ruiz escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Nice body kick there by Ruiz. King with a poor takedown and Ruiz counters with a series of strikes. King will be more careful next time no doubt. Jordan Ruiz has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Abdul King. A good leg kick by Ruiz. Ruiz with a body punch. A glancing blow. King tries for a takedown but Ruiz circles away easily and Ruiz counters with a straight right hand. King takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Ruiz has taken the fight to the clinch.

 That's two minutes gone in the round. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Ruiz misses with a knee to the head. Ruiz landing some nice looking knees to the body.
King takes a knee to the side of the body. Ruiz lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!

A solid leg kick lands there for Ruiz.
Ruiz shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. King eats them both and turns towards Ruiz to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Ruiz lands a big head kick that sends King tumbling to the mat! Ruiz takes a step backwards and waves King back to his feet - he wants the finish!
 King is rocked! The fighters circle, before Ruiz throws a beautiful high kick that crashes into King's neck, sending him stumbling to the floor! Ruiz lands more strikes and forces a referee stoppage! That one ended in an instant!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:45 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Kick & Punches). Jordan Ruiz!
