Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Darden Kane!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Malo Tavara!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Shigeki Sano and Tatsuya Matsuyama.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kane darts in trying to clinch
and Tavara counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Kane fails with an attempt to clinch.
A little jabbing left from Tavara on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Kane instigates a clinch.
Tavara manages to break the clinch.
Tavara circles away from the clinch attempt
and Tavara counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Kane tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Tavara counters with a nice right hand that sends Kane toppling to the canvas! Kane scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Tavara finish him?!
Kane is rocked!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Kane tries to clinch but Tavara moves away
and Tavara counters with a big right hand! Oh Kane is in trouble here! Tavara follows up with more strikes and that's it! The ref has stopped it!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:42 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Malo Tavara!
During a confident post fight interview, Malo Tavara thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
