Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Mabahong Tae (ranked 48 p4p, 82 weight class) and Aleksandr Pushkin (ranked 6 p4p, 10 weight class). Mabahong Tae has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 17 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Mabahong Tae!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 5 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Aleksandr Pushkin!
The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Taro Takaoka and Shigeki Fujiwara.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Pushkin.
Tae swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect.
Pushkin takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
A punch combination from Tae misses.
Pushkin misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Pushkin closes the distance and clinches up with Tae, looking for a takedown. Pushkin pushes Tae against the cage but Tae circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Mabahong Tae has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Aleksandr Pushkin.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Tae has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Pushkin is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Tae.

Pushkin goes for a double leg but Tae avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Tae continues to drive forward.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Mabahong Tae.
I think Pushkin has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
