Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Bambam Yagan (ranked 1656 p4p, 1761 weight class) and Pinarus Inventius (ranked 174 p4p, 186 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Bambam Yagan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Pinarus Inventius!
The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Yukihiro Shimada and Kenichi Hosakawa.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A shot to the body from Inventius misses
enabling Yagan to counter with a crisp jab.
Yagan lands a glancing blow to the side of Inventius's head.
Yagan looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Yagan throws the left hand but Inventius avoids the punch easily.
A telegraphed right hand from Yagan misses the target.
Inventius appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body.

Yagan throws a hook to the side of Inventius's head but Inventius sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

It looked like Yagan wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.

Yagan is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Inventius.

Yagan throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Inventius on the side of the head.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Bambam Yagan.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Yagan, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
