Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dave Handerson (ranked 176 p4p, 412 weight class) and Surkho Dratchev (ranked 27 p4p, 61 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Handerson might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to America - A Horse With No Name. Dratchev has chosen Schweine by Glukoza Nostra as his entrance music. Surkho Dratchev acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 24 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Dave Handerson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 17 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Surkho Dratchev! The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Hirohito Nitta and Yasuomi Hirokawa.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dratchev misses with a low kick. Handerson drops down looking for a counter takedown but Dratchev sprawls and moves away. Nice defenses there by Handerson. Dratchev throws a sloppy head kick and Handerson moves out of range easily. Handerson attempts a counter takedown but Dratchev avoids it well and moves away. Dratchev pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Handerson pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Dratchev throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Handerson feinted with a counter takedown. Handerson defending well as Dratchev loads up on a big left hand. Dratchev looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Handerson slips a jab from Dratchev. Handerson appears to be looking for a counter takedown. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Dratchev misses with an uppercut. Dratchev shoots in and bounces Handerson off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Dratchev postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Handerson utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Dratchev won't allow Handerson to sweep him here. Dratchev slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Handerson gets back to half guard. Dratchev performing his best blanket impression for a moment. Handerson is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment. Handerson trying to hold on to Dratchev's head to control him but Dratchev postures up.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Handerson is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control. Dratchev controlling the action here.  That's three minutes gone in the round. Dratchev not landing any meaningful shots this time. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Dratchev not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. The fighters are battling for position here. Handerson manages to regain full guard. Nice work.  The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. Dratchev misses with a straight left. A combination from Dratchev does no damage. Dratchev goes for a double leg but Handerson avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Handerson continues to drive forward. Dratchev throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Handerson sees it coming and avoids it easily. Dratchev goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
 It looks like Dave Handerson has been cut. Handerson looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. Handerson shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. Dratchev throws a head kick that Handerson semi-blocks.
Dratchev throws a hook to the side of Handerson's head but Handerson sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Handerson drops down looking for a counter takedown but Dratchev sprawls and moves away. Handerson checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time. Handerson feinted with a counter takedown. Dratchev shoots in but no luck this time. Dratchev looks for a takedown but Handerson sprawls well. Dave Handerson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Surkho Dratchev. Dratchev misses with a double jab.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Dratchev misses with a right hand
and Handerson counters with a nice double leg into guard. Handerson in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Handerson looking to pass the guard. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Surkho Dratchev dominated that round. The cut man is working on Dave Handerson's cut. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Dratchev fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Handerson manages to avoid it. Handerson steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Dratchev. Handerson feinted with a counter takedown. Dratchev tries to bum rush Handerson with a series of wild strikes but Handerson uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Handerson feinted with a counter takedown. Dratchev misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Surkho Dratchev has got the better of the ground game so far. Dratchev has hold of Handerson's hands but Handerson slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Handerson looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Dratchev with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Handerson seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Dratchev has hold of Handerson's hands but Handerson slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Dratchev is controlling Handerson's position as best he can from this difficult position. Handerson lands with a punch from half guard.

 That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Dratchev wants to lay and pray for a moment but Handerson keeps working. Handerson managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Dratchev.

Dratchev is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Handerson is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Handerson wants to control but Dratchev postures up. Handerson is looking for a sweep. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Dave Handerson will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Dave Handerson's cut. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! And we move into the final round!

Handerson lands a couple of decent looking shots. Dratchev trying to keep a closed guard but Handerson is proving a slippery customer.

 The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Handerson slips a straight right by Dratchev. Dratchev throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Handerson's waist but Handerson gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Dratchev off to one side. Handerson attempts a counter takedown but Dratchev avoids it well and moves away. Dave Handerson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now.
