Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jarrod Beard (ranked 561 p4p, 513 weight class) and Matt McDonalds (ranked 33 p4p, 12 weight class). Beard comes into the arena with Ladies Love Country Boys - Trace Adkins blaring out of the sound system. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Matt McDonalds!
The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, Colin Fotheringham and Chris Edwards.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Beard stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Beard has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Ludus Magnus in the buildup to the fight.

Beard throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

McDonalds is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.

McDonalds felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Beard darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

That has opened up Matt McDonalds's cut even more.
Beard creates some space for himself and unloads with a monster right hand! That one landed with a sickening thud - McDonalds is out cold and this one is all over! Beard climbs onto the cage to celebrate with his corner!! He's shouting something into the camera but he's still got his mouthpiece in so God knows what he's actually saying.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:41 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Jarrod Beard!
In his post fight interview, Jarrod Beard gave a big smile as he said 'Woooohoooooo! Big Country is back, baby! Been a long road, but still some bang, boom and bruise in this motor! Yeeeehaw!'.
