Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Tripp Melendez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Jason Gates!
The judges for this bout are Sergei Dronov, Aleksei Zolotukhin and Vladimir Khabensky.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gates shoots in looking for a takedown but Melendez manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Gates's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Gates takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Gates shoots in looking for a takedown. Melendez tries to sprawl out of it but Gates keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Melendez manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Melendez was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Gates tries for a takedown but Melendez sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Tripp Melendez has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jason Gates.
Melendez throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Gates misses with a takedown attempt - Melendez sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Melendez was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Gates will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Melendez takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.

Melendez lands with an uppercut that bounces Gates off the cage and back into range.

Both fighters step back and shake their arms out. Melendez engages and cracks Gates with a massive lead left hook - Gates tumbles to the floor, out cold! What a shot! Melendez is delighted - all that hard work in training paid off!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Tripp Melendez!
