The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Young is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Cross has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Young bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Young works the jab nicely.
It looks like Jeremy Cross has been cut.
Cross looks to land a left hand but Young moved out of range nicely.
Young cracks Cross with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Young has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Cross to stand back up!
Fred Young seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

It looked like Young was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Cross.
Young walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
It looks like Fred Young has been cut.
Young swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Young lands a big uppercut and Cross crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Cross looks OK. Young waves Cross back to his feet!
Young throws a shot from downtown. Cross moves away and avoids it.
Cross misses with a hook. Young ducked under it nicely.

Young fires a straight punch through the middle that cracks Cross square on the jaw! Damn, Cross is out cold on his feet and topples face first to the canvas! Wow, I haven't seen a knockout that brutal in a long time!

Jeremy Cross spoke after the fight, saying 'BY THE LIGHT OF THE MOON!'.
