Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jackson Mehoff!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, John Ellis!
The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Columbo Gatti and Jonathan Paton.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mehoff just misses with a punch to the body.
Left hook, right uppercut from Mehoff.
Mehoff swats away the attempt to clinch by Ellis.
Ellis tries to clinch up.
Ellis lands a nice looking body kick.
Mehoff pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Mehoff digs a good hook to Ellis's body.
Mehoff looks to score with a jab to the body but Ellis is just out of range.
Mehoff lands with a hook. Ellis tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Mehoff throws a right and a left that Ellis avoids nicely.
Ellis doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Mehoff counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Ellis takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Ellis tries a head kick but it misses.
Jackson Mehoff is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Mehoff misses with a body shot.
Ellis tries to close the distance and clinch up but Mehoff swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Ellis fails with an attempt to clinch.
Ellis shoots and misses
and Mehoff connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
A combination from Mehoff does no damage.
Mehoff scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Ellis throws a head kick that misses.
It looked like Mehoff was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
Mehoff throws a body shot but no joy.
Mehoff lands a jab to the nose.
Ellis is rocked!
Mehoff fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Ellis looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Ellis is still on wobbly legs! Can Mehoff finish him?
Ellis looks winded!
OH! Ellis has been rocked by a huge right hand and is in deep trouble! Mehoff smells blood and charges in for the finish! Mehoff unloads a vicious overhand right and connects to the jaw of Ellis sending him face first to the canvas! Unbelievable!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:54 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Jackson Mehoff!
