PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Gonzo Dragosavac (ranked 4007 p4p, 24272 weight class) and Mohamed Grant (ranked 400 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Dragosavac might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Kockar i pijanac. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Gonzo Dragosavac!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Mohamed Grant!
The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Steve Smith and Yves DeLean.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Grant goes for a double leg but Dragosavac avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Dragosavac continues to drive forward.

Dragosavac feints and as Grant raises his hands in defense, Dragosavac changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Grant pushes Dragosavac off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.

Grant is pressed up against the cage. Dragosavac has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Grant down to the mat. Grant avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Grant shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Dragosavac as he jumps to the side.
Grant will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Grant manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Dragosavac keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

The fighters are working up against the cage. Dragosavac manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.

Dragosavac has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Grant is trying to keep an underhook but Dragosavac manages to get the takedown into half guard.

Grant manages to escape and get back to his feet!
Dragosavac shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Grant eats them both and turns towards Dragosavac to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

Grant remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
