Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Fabio Gurgel (ranked 67 p4p, 507 weight class) and Elo Mnusk (ranked 12 p4p, 68 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Fabio Gurgel!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Elo Mnusk!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Steve Smith and Ian Loll.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mnusk throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and Gurgel counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Mnusk looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Gurgel wants to control but Mnusk is keeping him busy.
Gurgel not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Mnusk is trying to control but can't.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Mnusk really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Gurgel. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Mnusk can do anything to dispel that myth.
