Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jarrod Beard (ranked 206 p4p, 536 weight class) and Fred Young (ranked 16 p4p, 37 weight class). Beard's entrance music is Ladies Love Country Boys - Trace Adkins. A fine choice. Young has chosen Real Ganja Man as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the super heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jarrod Beard!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Fred Young!
The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Donald Grub and Daniel Bishop.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Young misses with a low kick.
Beard lands with a right hand.
Beard moves out of range as Young strikes.
Young throws an overhand right that lands on Beard's shoulder, as Beard tries to avoid the shot.
Young looks to land a body kick but Beard moved away.
Young swings and misses with a shot to the body
and Beard counters with a right hand to the body.
Beard avoids a punch combination nicely.
Beard lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Young has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Young misses the jab.
Young takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Beard connects with a right hand. Young shakes it off.
Beard feints and as Young raises his hands in defense, Beard changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Beard tries to free his leg and advance position but Young is retaining full guard.
Beard is working Young over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Young has momentary wrist control but Beard slips an elbow through the middle.
Beard stands up over Young, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Beard working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Young's head.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Beard postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Beard throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Young works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Beard trying to control the position from guard on top but Young is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Beard with a nice head shot there.
Beard makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Young is rocked!
Beard stands up over Young, holding on to his feet. Beard throws the legs to one side and dives in with a huge shot that lands flush on the chin! Young is out cold! Beard lands a couple more shots and the ref tackles him out of the way! What a brutal finish!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:51 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Jarrod Beard!
