This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the super heavyweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of New York, with a TWGC record of 92 wins and 56 losses; Moldy Jello! And in the blue corner, fighting out of New York, with a TWGC record of 45 wins and 59 losses; Boris Balkan!
The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, Phil Schofield and Andrew Berry.
The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way.
Balkan shoots in for a takedown but Jello shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Jello tries to counter with a takedown but Balkan is quick to defend against it.

My spies in Blacktalians MMA II inform me that Balkan has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!

Jello has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

What can Balkan do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!

Balkan is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
It looks like Balkan might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Balkan sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Jello's guard.
Jello is positioning himself well to prevent Balkan advancing to mount.
Balkan is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Jello doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Balkan.

The referee asks Balkan politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Balkan prefers to stall for the moment though.
