Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jimmie Vinge (ranked 303 p4p, 2488 weight class) and Okoro Igwe (ranked 44 p4p, 327 weight class). Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jimmie Vinge!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Okoro Igwe!
The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, Donald Grub and James Ackerman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Igwe shoots for a double leg takedown but Vinge sprawls well. He's pushed Igwe's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Igwe has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Vinge misses with a straight left.
Igwe looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Igwe scores with a jab to the jaw.
A big left from Igwe misses.
Vinge stuffs the takedown.
Igwe fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Vinge tried to counter with a leg kick but Igwe avoided it.
Igwe misses with a hook. Vinge ducked under it nicely.
Igwe throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Igwe moves away from the strike by Vinge.
Igwe throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Vinge with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Vinge bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Vinge ducks under a wild hook from Igwe.

Igwe shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Igwe is looking for a kimura but Vinge is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Igwe to get the leverage.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Igwe is looking to take a break and control but Vinge is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Igwe is looking for submissions but instead, Vinge has regained full guard.
Igwe stays in close to Vinge's body and controls the position.
Vinge has control of Igwe's left arm, preventing Igwe from doing any damage.
Vinge's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Igwe slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Vinge has Igwe pulled in close to control his posture.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Igwe slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Vinge keeping moving, preventing Igwe from controlling successfully.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Vinge managing to control the position.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Vinge moves forwards but Igwe connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Jimmie Vinge is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Igwe changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Vinge tries to avoid it but Igwe manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Vinge to the ground. Vinge escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
A little feinted left hand from Vinge on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Jimmie Vinge has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Okoro Igwe.
Igwe throws out a loose jab but Vinge uses good head movement to avoid it.
Igwe misses with a body shot.
Igwe throws a right hand that misses
and Vinge counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Igwe tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Vinge was well out of range. Poor timing from Igwe.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
A swing and a miss from Igwe.
Igwe connects with a nice looking jab.
A slow jab from Igwe misses its intended target.
Vinge is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Igwe just misses with a punch to the body.
Okoro Igwe seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Igwe tries to keep at a distance but Vinge has taken the fight into the clinch.

Igwe manages to pull guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Igwe is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Vinge is aware though and is defending well.
Vinge controlling from the top position.
Vinge has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Igwe pulls Vinge in close to prevent any damage.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Igwe trying to keep a closed guard but Vinge is proving a slippery customer.

Igwe had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Vinge defends it easily.
Igwe has a closed guard, preventing Vinge from standing up.
Vinge stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Igwe swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Igwe is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Vinge is aware though and is defending well.
Igwe wants to control the position but Vinge says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.
Igwe is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.
Vinge seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Okoro Igwe dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

and Igwe takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Igwe swings and misses with a shot to the body
and Vinge counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Igwe throws a big shot that misses.
Igwe keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Nice shot by Vinge.

Igwe is still on wobbly legs! Can Vinge finish him?

and Vinge counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Igwe thinking.

and Vinge counters with a powerful cross that connects right on the chin and the lights go out! A massive one punch knock out!
