The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kalmisto misses with a low kick.
Sitsongrit looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Kalmisto rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Sitsongrit connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Kalmisto throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Sitsongrit walks forward, straight into a front kick from Kalmisto.
Sitsongrit throws a head kick that misses.
Sitsongrit keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
Sitsongrit's coach down at Crapollas Gym was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Sitsongrit's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Kalmisto misses with a straight left.
Sitsongrit throws out a counter right but Kalmisto avoids it with no problem.
Kalmisto wants to land a leg kick but Sitsongrit is out of range.
Sitsongrit raises up his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Kalmisto lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Sitsongrit has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Sitsongrit and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Sitsongrit drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Kalmisto defends it well.

Kalmisto throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Sitsongrit swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Sitsongrit lands a nice hook to Kalmisto's body. Kalmisto takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Kalmisto pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Sitsongrit throws a head kick that misses.
Nice straight punches there by Kalmisto. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Kalmisto.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Kalmisto.
And Sitsongrit tries to counter it with a takedown but Kalmisto pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Kalmisto takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

Sitsongrit on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Sitsongrit has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Kalmisto.

and Sitsongrit counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Kalmisto pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.

and Sitsongrit counters with a stiff right hand.
Sitsongrit fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Kalmisto on the side of the head.
Kalmisto moves out of range of the strikes.
Good work by Sitsongrit as he checks the leg kick.

Kalmisto throws a hook but Sitsongrit avoids it easily.
Sitsongrit throws out a counter right but Kalmisto avoids it with no problem.
Kalmisto moves into range and lands a nice body kick.

Kalmisto tries to land a leg kick but Sitsongrit saw it coming and moves away.
Sitsongrit tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
Kalmisto misses with a kick to the body.
Kalmisto plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
Sitsongrit uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Kalmisto.
Sitsongrit sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
Sitsongrit is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Kalmisto had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into mush.
Kalmisto on the wrong end of a nice jab.
Ohhhhh! A huge head kick from Kalmisto! Sitsongrit is out on his feet! Kalmisto rushes in and throws more strikes. The ref is looking closely - Sitsongrit is covering up but the punishment is just too much and the ref steps in to stop the fight! Sitsongrit is staring into space, just thankful that the beatdown has ended. Brutal finish.
