Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jimmy Jackman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Paul Stahl!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Robert Douchet and Steve Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stahl wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Jackman misses with a straight left.
Jackman throws out a loose jab but Stahl uses good head movement to avoid it.
Jackman keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Jackman.
Jackman thuds a left hand into Stahl's body.
Jackman throws out a loose jab but Stahl uses good head movement to avoid it.
Stahl throws a lazy right hand but Jackman sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Jackman appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
Stahl throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Stahl takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Jackman lands a jab to the head.
Stahl throws out a loose jab but Jackman uses good head movement to avoid it.

Jackman tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Stahl was well out of range. Poor timing from Jackman.

Stahl connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Jackman momentarily.
Jackman avoids the body shot from Stahl.
Jackman is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Stahl.
A lazy left from Jackman finds it's target.
Jackman has been working on his balance at Temple of Fitness, so perhaps that has help him stuff some of the takedown attempts by Stahl.

Jackman's corner calls for a 1-2. Jackman obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Stahl throws a body shot but no joy.

and Jackman decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Stahl's guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Jackman scores with a decent looking elbow strike.

Jackman stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Stahl swivels though and keeps the full guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Jackman accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Stahl has control of Jackman's left arm, preventing Jackman from doing any damage.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Jackman wants to pass the guard but Stahl is keeping the position.
Jackman sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Stahl's guard.
Stahl is looking for a sweep. Jackman is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Jackman thows a huge punch but Stahl dodges it nicely.

Jackman is keen to just control but Stahl is a slippery customer.

Jackman is working for a kimura but Stahl is defending it quite comfortably.
Jackman lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.

Jackman is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Stahl tries to roll over but Jackman keeps him under control.

Stahl is in trouble now - Jackman has advanced to mount!

Stahl is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.

Jackman landing strikes from the mount and Stahl is in trouble!
BOOM! Jackman connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Poor strikes thrown by Jackman there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!

Jackman swings around for an armbar and he's got it! Wow, that came out of nowhere! What a finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 6:49 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Jimmy Jackman!
A relieved looking Jimmy Jackman thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
