Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Haw Thorn (ranked 160 p4p, 339 weight class) and Kokkoro Kirin (ranked 13 p4p, 20 weight class). Thorn comes to the cage accompanied by For Heavy Metal we will die!. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 22 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Haw Thorn!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 23 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Kokkoro Kirin!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Percy O'Donnell and Jack Bonds.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kirin wants to clinch up but Thorn keeps it at a distance.
Thorn feinted there with a counter leg kick.
Kirin cracks Thorn with a right hand to the side of the head.
Kirin tries to clinch but Thorn moves away
and Thorn counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Thorn swats away the attempt to clinch by Kirin.
Kirin tries a head kick but it misses.
A bone on bone clash there as Thorn blocks the leg kick.
Thorn appeared to be looking to counter that last move with a leg kick.
Kirin throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body.

Kirin's coach down at Gumburcules Gym was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Kirin's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.

I was talking to Thorn's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
