Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Cathal Doherty (ranked 634 p4p, 926 weight class) and Beanin Jiet (ranked 28 p4p, 42 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Doherty might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Jeremy- Pearl Jam. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Cathal Doherty!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Beanin Jiet!
The judges for this bout are Ron Honeybunn, Francis DeMontford and Topper Green.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Doherty misses with a hook
and Jiet counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Doherty moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Jiet tries to move into range but Doherty moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Jiet throws out a loose jab but Doherty uses good head movement to avoid it.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Jiet, as that shot connected.

Jiet lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Jiet is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Doherty stalks Jiet and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Jiet's face. Jiet staggers backwards, shaken.

Doherty looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Doherty stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Doherty looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Both these guys seem content to just stand up and trade with each other but Jiet might want to think about changing up his gameplan a bit because over the course of the fight, Doherty has got the better of the exchanges.

Doherty cracks Jiet with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Jiet looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Doherty finish him?

Jiet gets clipped by a big right hand and goes down spinning to the canvas! Doherty gets the back mount and begins to drop bombs on his rocked foe! Jiet is too out of it to defend against the strikes and the referee jumps in to save him from the beatdown!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:10 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Cathal Doherty!
A pretty intense looking Cathal Doherty took the opportunity post-fight to ask for a shot at the title.
