These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Alec Ball and Yves DeLean.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Posey lunges at Thorn with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Thorn's hand.

It looks like Lance Thorn has been cut.
Thorn swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Posey keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Thorn.

Posey staying out of range there.
Thorn throws an overhand right that lands on Posey 's shoulder, as Posey tries to avoid the shot.
Thorn rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Posey counters with an inside leg kick.
Posey chopping away at his opponent's legs.

Posey sends Thorn crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Posey is motioning to the referee to let Thorn up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!

Thorn is rocked!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Posey moves out of range as Thorn strikes.
Thorn is still on wobbly legs! Can Posey finish him?
Thorn lands with an uppercut that bounces Posey off the cage and back into range.
Thorn throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Thorn seems to have recovered his senses.
Posey bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Thorn's head backwards.

That has opened up Lance Thorn's cut even more.
We've been told by Posey 's head coaches at The House Of Pain that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Posey avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Posey is looking to counter punch.
Thorn leaves his chin hanging out and Posey seizes the opportunity with an uppercut! Thorn crumbles to the floor in a heap! The referee steps in and tends to the downed fighter! What a knockout!

Buster Posey was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
