Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Carter Wright (ranked 435 p4p, 504 weight class) and Miami Vice (ranked 59 p4p, 69 weight class). Vice has chosen Miami Vice Theme as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 28 - 17 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Miami Vice!
The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Paulo Santos and Matheus Silva.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vice stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Wright keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Wright is looking to counter punch.
Vice throws a big shot that misses.
Vice throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Wright sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Wright looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Vice throws a head kick that misses
and Wright counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
It looks like Miami Vice has been cut.
Vice looks to throw the jab but Wright is out of range.
A jab from Wright finds it's way through Vice's defenses.
Wright takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Vice looks to land a left hand but Wright moved out of range nicely.
Vice has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.

Vice connects with a nice looking jab.

Wright takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Wright lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Vice pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Wright tests Vice's chin there with a solid looking shot.
That has opened up Miami Vice's cut even more.
Vice throws a lazy right hand but Wright sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Vice jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Wright throws a quick counter head kick but Vice was just out of range.
Vice moves into range and clinches up with Wright.

A nice right hand lands inside from Wright.

Vice throws a punch but it's blocked by Wright.

Wright blocks an uppercut.
Wright struggles to land a body shot inside as Vice controls his hands.
Vice working aggressively here.
Vice throws a punch but it's blocked by Wright.
A short uppercut from Vice.
Wright escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Wright lands with a kick to the ribs.
Vice throws a head kick that misses
and Wright cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Vice lands with an overhand left.
Vice closes the distance looking to clinch
and Wright counters with a crisp one two that drops Vice! Wright thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Vice to his feet! Vice is in big trouble!
Vice is rocked!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Vice fails in his attempt to clinch.
A little feinted left hand from Wright on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Vice misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Wright drops Vice with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Vice looks back up at him and smiles so Wright waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Vice is still on wobbly legs! Can Wright finish him?
The cut above Miami Vice's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Vice misses with a left hand
and Wright counters with a powerful cross that connects right on the chin and the lights go out! A massive one punch knock out!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:12 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Carter Wright!
