Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Derrick Thomas (ranked 1132 p4p, 1171 weight class) and Lou Slugger (ranked 125 p4p, 130 weight class). Slugger has chosen For Heavy Metal we will die! as his entrance music. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Slugger cracks Thomas with a good jab.
Slugger tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Thomas was well out of range. Poor timing from Slugger.
Slugger misses with an uppercut. Thomas saw that one coming.
Thomas misses the shot to the body.
Slugger throws a chopping leg kick but Thomas manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
Thomas throws a body punch but Slugger moves out of range.
Slugger lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Thomas throws a low kick but Slugger avoids it.
Slugger fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Thomas .
A chopping leg kick lands by Slugger.

Slugger doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter.

Slugger swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Thomas looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Slugger buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.

Thomas takes one on the chin but seems OK.
The crowd cheers as Slugger lands an impressive looking overhand right. Thomas doesn't seem phased though.
Slugger wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Thomas misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Thomas lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.

Slugger punishes Thomas 's body with a nice straight punch.
Slugger connects with a looping right hand.
Thomas lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Slugger circles away quickly and effectively.
Lou Slugger seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Thomas slips a jab and a cross from Slugger.

and Thomas counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
A good leg kick by Thomas .
Slugger fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Thomas has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Thomas takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.

Slugger connects with a solid leg kick.
Slugger throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Thomas connects with an inside leg kick.
Slugger just misses with a punch to the body.
Slugger lands a nice leg kick that just misses Thomas 's sensitive parts.
Slugger shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.

Thomas drops Slugger with a beautiful combination! Slugger stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Thomas is looking for the KO!

Slugger is rocked!

It looks like Lou Slugger has been cut.
A low kick from Slugger is predictable there
and Thomas counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Thomas is looking to wear down Slugger with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
Slugger looks winded!

Slugger only half commits to the counter leg kick.
Slugger moves away from the strike by Thomas .
Both fighters step back and shake their arms out. Thomas engages and cracks Slugger with a massive lead left hook - Slugger tumbles to the floor, out cold! What a shot! Thomas is delighted - all that hard work in training paid off!
