Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Alborz Mumu (ranked 63 p4p, 90 weight class) and Ali Amir (ranked 7 p4p, 10 weight class). Amir has chosen Mastodon - Gobblers of Dregs as his entrance music. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Daniel Cesar and Matheus Silva.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Amir throws a right hand that misses
and Mumu cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

It looks like Ali Amir has been cut.
Amir takes a swing at Mumu's ribcage but misses.

Amir tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Amir misses with a hook. Mumu ducked under it nicely.
Amir tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Mumu paws at him with a jab and circles away.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Amir throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Mumu sees it coming and avoids it easily.
It appears Mumu was looking to counter with a kick there.

and Mumu connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Mumu has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

Amir tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Mumu paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Amir feints and then cracks Mumu's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Mumu down.
Amir ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Mumu moves away.
Mumu jinks towards his opponent looking like he wants to counter with a mid kick but doesn't commit.

Mumu was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.

Mumu slips a straight right by Amir.

and Amir takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Amir moves in looking to clinch but Mumu pushes him off.
Amir lands a jab to Mumu's midsection.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Amir pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Amir shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Mumu uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Amir.
Amir throws a head kick but Mumu moves out of range.
As Amir backs away, Mumu returns fire with a leg kick that just misses.

Mumu keeps the fight on the outside.
Mumu throws a quick counter kick to the body but Amir avoids it.
Amir closes the distance looking to clinch
and Mumu cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Amir is really struggling to land any decent head shots against his taller opponent.
Mumu defending well as Amir loads up on a big left hand.
A low kick from Amir is predictable there
enabling Mumu to counter with a crisp jab.
Amir swings and misses with a hook to the body.

Amir rushes in with a sloppy looking punch

That has opened up Ali Amir's cut even more.

Amir throws out a leg kick but Mumu moves out of range and Amir only half commits.
Amir tries to clinch up.
Amir throws out a loose jab but Mumu uses good head movement to avoid it.
Mumu swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect.
Amir cracks Mumu with a right hand to the side of the head.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Mumu slips a straight right by Amir.
It looked like Mumu wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Ali Amir will probably get the nod.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

And Mumu counters with a quick kick to the body but Amir blocks it.

and Mumu counters with a crisp right hand that drops Amir! Mumu lets Amir back up to his feet, looking for a finish!

Amir is rocked!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Some bone on bone action there as Mumu checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Mumu appears to be looking for a big counter.
Mumu moves out of range of the strikes.

Amir throws a body shot but no joy.
Mumu thinks about countering with a body kick.
Amir misses with an uppercut

and Mumu counters with a nice right hand that sends Amir toppling to the canvas! Amir scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Mumu finish him?!
Amir is still on wobbly legs! Can Mumu finish him?

The cut above Ali Amir's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Amir throws a sloppy head kick
and Mumu counters with a left and a right... and another left... and another!! That last one turned off the lights! Amir has no idea who he is and is as he gazes up at the spotlights. Brutal knockout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:35 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Alborz Mumu!
After winning the bout, Alborz Mumu thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
