Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between John Paul (ranked 1857 p4p, 2172 weight class) and Dwalin Giantslayer (ranked 72 p4p, 115 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, John Paul!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Dwalin Giantslayer!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Cecil Peabody and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Paul lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Giantslayer at a distance.
Giantslayer looks for a takedown but Paul sprawls well.
Giantslayer takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Jab, jab by Paul - just one landing.

It looks like Dwalin Giantslayer has been cut.
Paul fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Giantslayer darts in looking for a takedown but Paul gets double underhooks and turns Giantslayer into the cage.
Nice takedown defense from Paul. No joy for Giantslayer on that attempt.
John Paul has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dwalin Giantslayer.

and Paul decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Giantslayer's guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Paul tries to stand but can't do so whilst Giantslayer controls his leg.
Giantslayer makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Giantslayer.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Giantslayer tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Paul trying to stand up but can't free himself from Giantslayer's guard.
Giantslayer pulls Paul in close to prevent any damage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Giantslayer has a closed guard, preventing Paul from standing up.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Giantslayer chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Paul can pounce on him.
Giantslayer needs to keep his hands up - Paul had a free shot at his head there.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Giantslayer shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Paul ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Giantslayer ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Paul moves away.
Giantslayer shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Paul but Paul pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Paul half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
Paul scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Paul leaves Giantslayer with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Giantslayer drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
A lazy left from Paul finds it's target.
Giantslayer takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Paul connects with a nice looking jab.

That has opened up Dwalin Giantslayer's cut even more.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Paul stuffs the takedown.
Paul appears to be looking for a counter takedown.

Giantslayer shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Paul's guard.
Giantslayer with a flurry of punches that miss.
Giantslayer is looking to work some ground and pound but Paul has wrist control.
Giantslayer prevents Paul from getting back to his feet.
Giantslayer landing some decent shots from guard.
Paul keeping moving, preventing Giantslayer from controlling successfully.
Giantslayer connects with a couple of short punches.
Giantslayer looking to sit in guard and control but Paul gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Giantslayer wants to control the position but Paul says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

John Paul dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Dwalin Giantslayer's cut.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Giantslayer slips a straight right by Paul.
Giantslayer is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.

Giantslayer closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Paul quickly recovers to half guard.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Giantslayer throws a strike but Paul avoids it easily and moves to full guard.
Giantslayer wants to control from the top but Paul keeps moving.
Giantslayer tries to free his leg and advance position but Paul is retaining full guard.
Giantslayer in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Paul being controlled here, momentarily.
Paul will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Giantslayer won't allow Paul to get back to his feet.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Paul is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
Paul fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Giantslayer throws a right and a left that Paul avoids nicely.

Giantslayer closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Paul to the mat! Paul manages to get full guard.

Giantslayer slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Paul wants to stand up but Giantslayer is controlling him.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Giantslayer slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
My spies in London MMA Club inform me that Giantslayer has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Giantslayer is defended easily by Paul.

Paul clobbers Giantslayer with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
We've been told by Paul's head coaches at Mentor Gym that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Giantslayer tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Paul defends well and Giantslayer ends up having to push Paul into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
A punch lands to the side of Giantslayer 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Giantslayer walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Paul tests Giantslayer's chin there with a solid looking shot.

The cut above Dwalin Giantslayer's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Paul avoids the body shot from Giantslayer.
Giantslayer takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Giantslayer looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Paul is fending him off so far but Giantslayer persists. Nope, Paul circles away and we're back to standing.
John Paul has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dwalin Giantslayer.
Paul lands a nice hook to Giantslayer's body. Giantslayer takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Giantslayer walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Giantslayer looks up at the clock. Bad move! Paul lands a right hand from hell, dropping Giantslayer. Paul pounces and finishes the fight with a flurry of punches and elbows.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:10 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). John Paul!
Jumping up and down and very excited, John Paul waved his t-shirt featuring Urban Fighter's logo in front of the cameras.
