Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Yakubu Okoroji (ranked 279 p4p, 916 weight class) and Ilari Rahamies (ranked 25 p4p, 82 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 6 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Yakubu Okoroji!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 6 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Ilari Rahamies!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Ian Loll and Robert Douchet.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Okoroji closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Rahamies to the mat! Rahamies manages to get full guard.
Okoroji tries to free his leg and advance position but Rahamies is retaining full guard.
Rahamies keeping moving, preventing Okoroji from controlling successfully.
Okoroji stops Rahamies from standing up.
Okoroji pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Rahamies is keeping the position for now.

Okoroji has been working on his balance at MMA Training and Sparring Buddies, so perhaps that has help him stuff some of the takedown attempts by Rahamies.

We've been informed that Rahamies has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.

Okoroji moves in looking to clinch but Rahamies pushes him off.

Okoroji with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Rahamies to score with a decent uppercut.

Horrible takedown attempt by Okoroji or perhaps it was just good defense by Rahamies, which made it look bad.

Rahamies feints and then cracks Okoroji's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Okoroji down.

and Rahamies connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Okoroji tries to score a power double leg takedown but Rahamies sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Okoroji somewhat.
Okoroji is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight.
Okoroji is breathing heavily.
Okoroji scores with a nice head shot.
Rahamies feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Okorojis jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!

Rahamies buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Okoroji closes the distance and clinches up with Rahamies, looking for a takedown. Okoroji pushes Rahamies against the cage but Rahamies circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

That kick from Rahamies tenderised Okoroji's leg. Okoroji is trying to keep his angry face on.
Rahamies connects with a good right hand that stumbles Okoroji. Okoroji circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Rahamies fakes a right and follows up with a big left that drops Okoroji to one knee - oooooh, he's wobbly! Okoroji looks to clinch but Rahamies throws him off and pummels him into the canvas! Okoroji taps out under the strikes! The fight is over!
