Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 20 - 16 - 0, fighting out of London, Matthew Quigley!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Stoned Nelson!
The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Paulsen Ambrosius and Daniel Blasius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Quigley throws a poor cross that misses

and Nelson counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Quigley!

Nelson tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Nelson has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Nelson wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Quigley, who protects the arm well.

Quigley prevents Nelson from improving position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Quigley tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Nelson wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Nelson tries to advance to mount but can't.

Nelson working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Nelson goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Quigley has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Nelson but great work by Quigley.

Nelson is looking for a sweep.
Nelson has found himself in a tricky position here. He's been working his transitions in training so let's see if he can work his way out of it.
Nelson is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Nelson gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Quigley in particular looking to stall.
We've been hearing good reports from Quigley's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
Quigley wants to control but Nelson is keeping him busy.
Quigley tries to stand but can't do so whilst Nelson controls his leg.
Quigley trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.

Nelson is pulling down on Quigley's head to control his posture.
Quigley trying to control but Nelson is working from the bottom.
Quigley controls from within his opponent's guard.
Quigley wants to stand but Nelson is controlling his posture from full guard.
Nelson lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Nelson is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Quigley can't keep his opponent in guard - Nelson advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Nelson wants to take a breather but Quigley is having none of it.

Nelson seems to be working for a kimura but Quigley defends the submission attempt.
Nelson is trying to control. Quigley wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Nelson is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Nelson perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Stoned Nelson dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Quigley throws a shot from downtown. Nelson moves away and avoids it.
Nelson is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Quigley with a body shot.
A slow jab from Quigley misses its intended target.
Nelson gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
enabling Quigley to counter with a crisp jab.

Oooooh!!! Quigley has knocked Nelson down with a huge combo! Quigley steps away and waves a wobbly Nelson back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!

Nelson is rocked!

It looks like Stoned Nelson has been cut.
Quigley loads up on a big right hand but Nelson slips the punch.
Quigley throws a right and a left that both miss.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Quigley throws a looping overhand right but Nelson ducks down to avoid it.
Nelson changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.

Quigley lands a big right hand that sends Nelson crashing to the mat! Quigley stays standing though and waves Nelson back to his feet!
Nelson is still on wobbly legs! Can Quigley finish him?

and Quigley counters with a big right hand! Oh Nelson is in trouble here! Quigley follows up with more strikes and that's it! The ref has stopped it!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:55 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Matthew Quigley!
A relieved looking Matthew Quigley thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
