Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between John Paul (ranked 2204 p4p, 3760 weight class) and Booger Magee (ranked 76 p4p, 130 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, John Paul!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 17 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Booger Magee!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Wesley Smith and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Paul uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Magee.
Magee throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Paul.
Paul slips a straight right by Magee.
Booger Magee seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A low kick from Magee is predictable there
and Paul counters with a straight right hand.
Magee takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Magee throws a leg kick that is checked
and Paul counters with a thumping low kick.
Paul looks to land a left hand but Magee moved out of range nicely.
Magee shoots in for a takedown but Paul shows good takedown defense.
Paul attempts a counter takedown but Magee avoids it well and moves away.
Magee missing with a left hand there. Paul was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Magee attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.
Paul avoids a low kick by using good footwork.

It looks like John Paul has been cut.
Magee takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Magee throws a sloppy head kick
and Paul makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
Magee looks winded!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Paul scores with a kick to the body.
Magee looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Magee throws a right hand that misses
and Paul counters with a nice uppercut.
Magee closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Paul connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Magee momentarily.

Magee throws an off balance right hand
and Paul counters with a slapping leg kick.
Magee misses with a looping left.
Paul feinted there with a counter leg kick.
Paul avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Magee throws a combination that misses
and Magee takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Paul listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.
Paul jabs at Magee's body.
Paul digs a good hook to Magee's body.
Paul ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Paul paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Nice uppercut lands for Paul. That snapped Magee's head back.
Paul scores with a hook to the body. Magee takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Paul is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Magee misses with a leg kick

and Paul counters with a takedown into side control.
Paul cracks Magee with a big right hand but Magee just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Paul tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Paul scoring with punches and elbows.
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.

Paul is chipping away with strikes.
Magee is looking for a sweep.
Magee taking punishment in the form of punches.
Paul lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
Paul wants to stand but Magee is controlling his arm.
Paul connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Magee some visible discomfort.
Magee is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Paul is controlling him well.

Paul wants to lay and pray for a moment but Magee keeps working.
Paul moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.

Paul continues to stall.
Magee sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
Magee is concentrating on defense, preventing Paul from advancing position.
Magee is trying to get back to full guard.
Magee is controlling Paul's trapped leg to prevent Paul from advancing to side control.
Magee is trying to stand.
Magee trying to control from the bottom.
Paul keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
Paul is trying to control. Magee wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Magee regains full guard. Nicely done.
Paul won't allow Magee to sweep him here.

Magee seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Paul checks a leg kick nicely.
An attempted straight right counter from Paul misses the target.
Magee swings for the body but Paul moves out of range.
Paul tests Magee's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Magee misses with a leg kick

so Paul counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Magee is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Paul presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Paul avoids the elbow strike from Magee, against the cage.
Magee tries to circle away but Paul has him pinned against the cage.
Paul blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Paul makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
A nice right hand lands inside from Paul.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Paul misses with a short punch on the inside.
Paul avoids the elbow strike from Magee, against the cage.
A head punch on the inside from Magee fails to land.

And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

John Paul dominated that round.
The cut man is working on John Paul's cut.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Magee wants to clinch
and Paul counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Paul cracks Magee with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Paul throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Magee throws a hook but Paul avoids it easily.
Paul tries to counter with a takedown but Magee is quick to defend against it.
Magee is really struggling to land any decent head shots against his taller opponent.
Paul lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Magee throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Paul cracks Magee with a good jab.
A nice leg kick lands there from Paul.
We've been told by Paul's head coaches at Mentor Gym that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
John Paul is winning the standup battle so far.
Magee takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Magee tries to bum rush Paul with a series of wild strikes but Paul uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Paul tries to counter with a takedown but Magee is quick to defend against it.
Good work by Paul as he checks the leg kick.
Paul swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Paul takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Magee shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Paul scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Magee cracks Paul with a good jab.
Magee misses with a head kick.

Paul swats away the attempt to clinch by Magee.
Paul moves away from the strike by Magee.
Magee throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Magee is breathing heavily.
Magee misses with an uppercut
and Paul counters with a straight right hand.
Magee throws a hook but Paul avoids it easily.

Paul sends Magee crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Paul is motioning to the referee to let Magee up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!

Magee is rocked!
Paul fakes the body blow, causing Magee to drop his hands! Left hook to the temple! Magee goes stiff, and falls face first into the mat. Goodnight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:34 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). John Paul!
In defeat, Booger Magee stepped up to the mic, saying 'Ouchie.'.
