The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fedetenko slips under a jab.
A swing and a miss from Fedetenko.
Thompson fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Fedetenko manages to avoid it.
An attempted straight right counter from Fedetenko misses the target.
Fedetenko catches Thompson with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!

It looks like Ricky Thompson has been cut.
Fedetenko throws a big shot that misses.
Thompson throws a right and a left that both miss.
Fedetenko throwing a counter right hand but Thompson manages to avoid it.
Thompson throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Fedetenko's waist but Fedetenko gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Thompson off to one side.
Fedetenko leaves Thompson with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Thompson connects with a right hand. Fedetenko shakes it off.
Thompson ducks under a wild hook from Fedetenko.

Thompson moves out of range as Fedetenko strikes.
Thompson fails to land with a series of punches.
Thompson throws a right hand that Fedetenko ducks under and follows up with a left that Fedetenko also avoids with ease.

and Fedetenko counters with a nice uppercut.
Vladamir Fedetenko is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Fedetenko lands a nice hook to Thompson's body. Thompson takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Thompson throws a right and a left that both miss.
Thompson misses with a jab, cross combination.
Thompson tries to land a body kick
and Fedetenko counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Thompson looks winded!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Thompson bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

and Fedetenko counters with a crisp right hand that drops Thompson! Fedetenko lets Thompson back up to his feet, looking for a finish!

and Fedetenko counters with a nice body shot.
Fedetenko lands hard precision jab right on the jaw that stiffens Thompson up and sends him tumbling to the mat! The ref grabs Fedetenko from behind before he can pounce. Some folks in the crowd didn't like that stoppage, but I saw Thompson's eyes roll way back in his head, he was done.
