PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Maximus Furioto (ranked 183 p4p, 196 weight class) and Mister Mediocre (ranked 27 p4p, 30 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Furioto might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to 韻踏合組合 - . Mediocre has chosen The Champ Is Here! as his entrance music. Mister Mediocre will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

The judges for this bout are James Glass, Sam Margolis and Steven Brown.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Furioto moves forwards but Mediocre connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Mediocre tries to score with a low kick but Furioto moves his leg out of the way.
A little feinted left hand from Furioto on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Mediocre leaves Furioto with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Furioto on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Mediocre. Mediocre obviously looking to wear him down.
Furioto takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Furioto takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
A slapping leg kick lands for Mediocre.

Furioto is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Mediocre's half guard.

We've been hearing good reports from Furioto's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Furioto is looking for a kimura but Mediocre is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Furioto to get the leverage.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Mediocre is looking to regain full guard. He's left an arm up in the air though and Furioto has latched onto it... Big trouble! Furioto pivots for an armbar - it's in tight and it Mediocre is tapping in no time flat! Great counter grappling there from Furioto!
