Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Owen Savage (ranked 3367 p4p, 3560 weight class) and Toga Reyes (ranked 373 p4p, 389 weight class). Reyes has chosen Loco En El Coco by Cypress Hill as his entrance music. Owen Savage has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Owen Savage!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Toga Reyes!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Trevor Gratis and Gregory Folan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Savage tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.
A slow jab from Reyes misses its intended target.
Savage looks for the body kick but Reyes saw that one coming.
Reyes tries to close the distance and clinch but Savage swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Savage half committed to a counter leg kick.
Reyes misses the shot to the body.
Reyes wants to clinch
and Savage counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Reyes misses with a wild combination.
Reyes scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Reyes scores with a punch to the head.
Reyes falls off balance throwing a combination
and Savage counters with a nice uppercut.
Savage bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Savage lands a really nice looking cross but Reyes seems unphased.
Savage scores with a sloppy right hand. Reyes should have avoided that one.
Reyes throws the left hand but Savage avoids the punch easily.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Savage swats away the attempt to clinch by Reyes.
Reyes throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Savage counters with a nice uppercut.
Reyes misses with a left hand
and Savage counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Savage slips a jab from Reyes.
Savage appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body.
Reyes rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Reyes takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Reyes moves out of range as Savage strikes.
Reyes closes the distance looking to clinch
and Savage makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Reyes really felt that one!

Reyes avoids the head kick by Savage.
Savage defending well as Reyes loads up on a big left hand.
Toga Reyes seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Nice shot lands for Savage.
Reyes is looking to clinch but Savage is avoiding it.
Reyes throws an off balance right hand
and Savage counters with a left to the body.
Savage missing with a left hand there. Reyes was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Reyes looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Reyes swings widly with a right hand
and Savage counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.

Reyes closes the distance and pushes Savage back into the cage.

Reyes breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Savage lands a front kick.
It looks like Savage has been trying to sharpen up his punching technique, as it looks crisper than last time we saw him.
Savage getting the better of the striking in that exchange.

It looks like Toga Reyes has been cut.
Reyes moves out of range of the body kick.
Savage takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Reyes misses with a jab to the body
and Savage counters with a stiff right hand.
Reyes rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Savage moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Owen Savage dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Toga Reyes's cut.
That's time! Back to the action!

Reyes throws a left and a right that both miss
and Savage counters with an outside leg kick.
Toga Reyes has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Savage lands a jab to the nose.

Savage lands a big right hand that sends Reyes crashing to the mat! Savage stays standing though and waves Reyes back to his feet!

Reyes is rocked!
Reyes throws a big shot that misses.
Reyes is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Savage.
Reyes tries to clinch but Savage moves out of range.
Reyes moves out of range as Savage strikes.
Reyes swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Savage throws a right and a left that Reyes avoids nicely.
A jab from Savage finds it's way through Reyes's defenses.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Savage throws a nice outside leg kick.
Reyes misses with a hook

and Savage counters with a crisp right hand that drops Reyes! Savage lets Reyes back up to his feet, looking for a finish!
Reyes is still on wobbly legs! Can Savage finish him?
Reyes misses with a lunging right hand
and Savage scores with a counter punch that sends Reyes to the canvas! Savage smells blood - he's punishing Reyes with more strikes and the ref has stopped it! Reyes has no idea where he is - he's tackled the ref... oh dear, poor guy, the crowd is in hysterics!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:23 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Owen Savage!
A very excited looking Owen Savage made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
