Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 1 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Nacho Palhares!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Noah Diaz!
The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, John Mangel and Damien Edna.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Diaz drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Palhares wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!

Diaz tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

Diaz is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Palhares is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Diaz prevents Palhares from escaping the position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Diaz is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Palhares has escaped the position, nice work there.
Diaz really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Palhares. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Palhares pushes Diaz away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Diaz gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Diaz working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Palhares is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Diaz asserts his dominance and retains side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Palhares is pushing Diaz's head away, looking to escape. Diaz manages to hold on to the position though.

Diaz working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Diaz is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Palhares knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Palhares wants to get back to his feet but Diaz drags him back down.
Palhares on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Palhares tries to get out of the position.

Diaz tries for a kimura but Palhares is defending well.
Palhares is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Diaz has just dragged him back down to the mat.

Diaz is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Palhares has escaped the position, nice work there.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Palhares is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters, thinking about a standup.

Noah Diaz comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Diaz has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
