Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ivan Jomoney (ranked 734 p4p, 679 weight class) and Genkei Takahashi (ranked 102 p4p, 92 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 19 - 13 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Ivan Jomoney! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 14 - 7 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Genkei Takahashi! The judges for this bout are William Gold, Sam Margolis and Paul Tew.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jomoney shoots in for a double leg but Takahashi sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. The fighters circle momentarily. Jomoney darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. Jomoney definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Takahashi throws a hook to the side of Jomoney's head but Jomoney sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Jomoney swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Takahashi throws a shot from downtown. Jomoney moves away and avoids it. Takahashi throws a chopping leg kick but Jomoney manages to avoid taking any serious damage. Nice cross by Jomoney. Takahashi doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Takahashi stuffs the takedown attempt from Jomoney. Jomoney gets slowly back to his feet. Takahashi tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away. Takahashi darts in looking for a takedown but Jomoney gets double underhooks and turns Takahashi into the cage. Takahashi has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. A low kick lands for Takahashi.
Jab, jab by Takahashi - just one landing. Jomoney takes one on the button. Jomoney is trying hard to land a takedown here. Takahashi sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ivan Jomoney. That's going to take a lot out of him. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Takahashi throws a nice outside leg kick. Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Jomoney, as that shot connected.

That's one minute gone in the round. Takahashi fails to land the takedown. Jomoney shoots and misses and Takahashi counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Takahashi misses the shot to the body. Jomoney throws a nice looking combination but Takahashi bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. And Takahashi tries to counter it with a takedown but Jomoney pushes his down on his head and steps out. Jomoney shoots in for a double leg but Takahashi sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Takahashi lands with an uppercut that bounces Jomoney off the cage and back into range. Takahashi keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Jomoney misses with a left hand letting Takahashi counter with a right hand. Takahashi looks to land a right hand but Jomoney moved out of range. Jomoney takes one to the chin there. Takahashi bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut. Takahashi shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Jomoney's guard. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Takahashi not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Takahashi trying to control but Jomoney is working from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jomoney has control of Takahashi's left arm, preventing Takahashi from doing any damage. Jomoney bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Takahashi's guard. Jomoney throws a big right hand that misses. Jomoney with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Jomoney wants to control from the top but Takahashi keeps moving. Jomoney avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Takahashi is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Jomoney defends well. Jomoney forces his way into half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jomoney thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Takahashi's head. Takahashi controlling the position well. Jomoney controlling the pace. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Jomoney lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Takahashi is doing well to control the position and prevent Jomoney from advancing to side control. Jomoney seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Takahashi does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Takahashi actively working from the bottom here. Takahashi tries to roll over but Jomoney keeps him under control. Jomoney is controlling the pace.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Jomoney working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. Jomoney looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Jomoney trying to control the position from guard on top but Takahashi is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Genkei Takahashi dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! A solid leg kick lands there for Takahashi.
Jomoney thuds a left hand into Takahashi's body. Jomoney swings for the body but Takahashi moves out of range.
Jomoney looks to throw the jab but Takahashi is out of range. Takahashi avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Takahashi lands a right hook to the body.
Genkei Takahashi seems to be getting the better of the standup. Jomoney checks a leg kick nicely. Takahashi sizes up Jomoney with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle. Takahashi lands a nice looking body shot.
Takahashi uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Jomoney.
Takahashi feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Takahashi missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Takahashi throws an elbow that misses. Jomoney uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Takahashi's guard. Nice move by Jomoney! Jomoney slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Ivan Jomoney overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
That's one minute gone in the round. Takahashi trying to keep a closed guard but Jomoney is proving a slippery customer.

Jomoney is working Takahashi over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Takahashi has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Takahashi is trying to control the position from the bottom.

That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Jomoney lands a couple of elbows. Takahashi tries to land a sweep but no joy. Takahashi is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but Jomoney frees his head nicely. Oh but Takahashi has switched to an armbar! Jomoney is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:27 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Armbar). Genkei Takahashi! Genkei Takahashi decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
