Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Boris Yeltsin Jr (ranked 941 p4p, 1043 weight class) and Brett Shoenfeld (ranked 67 p4p, 73 weight class). Brett Shoenfeld has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Boris Yeltsin Jr!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 23 - 16 - 0, fighting out of New York, Brett Shoenfeld!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Jack Bonds and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sloppy strikes from Yeltsin Jr. Those never looked like landing.
Yeltsin Jr connects with a good right hand that stumbles Shoenfeld. Shoenfeld circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Yeltsin Jr looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Yeltsin Jr moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.

and Shoenfeld counters with a single leg into guard. Yeltsin Jr didn't expect that.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Yeltsin Jr is in a tricky position. We've heard reports from his gym mates at 3Band MMA that he's been drilling escapes, so let's see if he can get back to his feet.

Shoenfeld looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Shoenfeld is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Yeltsin Jr doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Shoenfeld.

Shoenfeld tries to free his leg and advance position but Yeltsin Jr is retaining full guard.
Shoenfeld is pushing down on Yeltsin Jr's leg trying to pass to half guard. Yeltsin Jr is fighting to maintain full guard but Shoenfeld has managed to sneak the leg through.

Shoenfeld seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

That was a close round but I would say that Boris Yeltsin Jr will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Yeltsin Jr swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Shoenfeld tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
Shoenfeld looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Boris Yeltsin Jr seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Yeltsin Jr misses with a straight right.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Shoenfeld can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Yeltsin Jr is looking to escape.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Yeltsin Jr lands with a straight right. Shoenfeld didn't see that one coming.
Brett Shoenfeld has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

I would just about give that final round to Brett Shoenfeld.
I think Yeltsin Jr has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
