The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bowy fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Vurris manages to avoid it.
Bowy keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.

Vurris feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Bowy takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.

A nice side step and Vurris releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.
Vurris tries to score a power double leg takedown but Bowy sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Vurris somewhat.

Vurris connects with a single shot there.
Bowy lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Bowy connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Vurris momentarily.
Vurris tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Bowy defends well and Vurris ends up having to push Bowy into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
