Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Bryant Smith (ranked 2814 p4p, 1651 weight class) and Huena Ajuricaba (ranked 337 p4p, 221 weight class). Smith kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Television - Marquee Moon. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
An inside leg kick lands from Smith.
Smith misses with the body kick
letting Ajuricaba counter with a right hand.
Smith tries to work over Ajuricaba's front leg with a kick but Ajuricaba checks it.
Ajuricaba is looking to score with low kicks.
A slow jab from Smith misses its intended target.
Ajuricaba throws out a counter right but Smith avoids it with no problem.
Smith throws a half hearted mid kick.
Smith throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Ajuricaba uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Smith.
Smith misses with a straight left.
Ajuricaba is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Smith with a body shot.

and Smith takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Smith throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Smith thuds a left hand into Ajuricaba's body.
Ajuricaba takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

and Ajuricaba counters with a straight right hand.

Smith swings for the body but Ajuricaba moves out of range.

Smith is looking to wear down Ajuricaba with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
Ajuricaba tries to move into range but Smith moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Smith scores with a hook to the body. Ajuricaba takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Ajuricaba throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Smith ducks right into an uppercut from Ajuricaba.

and Ajuricaba counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Smith rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Ajuricaba counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Ajuricaba ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

Ajuricaba takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Ajuricaba throws a jab when Smith was well out of range.

A lazy body kick from Smith
and Ajuricaba counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Smith lands a head kick. Ajuricaba smiles back at him and beckons him forward.

Ajuricaba is trying to counter with his kicks.
Some bone on bone action there as Ajuricaba checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
A looping hook to the body misses from Smith. Ajuricaba does a little dance to reset his feet.

and Ajuricaba counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
A low kick from Smith is predictable there
and Ajuricaba counters with a huge uppercut, hook combination that drops Smith! The ref has seen enough - he's dived in to stop the fight! Brutal strikes by Ajuricaba!
