PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Nero Porto (ranked 6072 p4p, 3006 weight class) and Knut Brovold (ranked 494 p4p, 346 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Porto might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Ayumi Nakamura - Kaze Ni Nare. Knut Brovold acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the ring.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Brovold shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Brovold tries to pass to full mount but Porto defends it.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Brovold prevents Porto from improving his position.
Porto regains full guard. Nicely done.

Porto looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Porto has his foot on Brovold's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Brovold works his way back into a safe position though.
Porto wants to sweep but no luck.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Porto working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Brovold doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Brovold manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Brovold got a little sloppy there for a moment and Porto has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Brovold has managed to get both his arms back between Porto's legs - danger averted.

Porto is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Brovold is keen to just control but Porto is a slippery customer.

My spies in Tappelukerho inform me that Brovold has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!

Porto escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Brovold gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Brovold is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Porto has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Brovold is looking to defend but Porto has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Brovold! Porto pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Brovold taps out and this one is all over!
