PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Fury Tyson (ranked 1409 p4p, 1422 weight class) and Albert Doom (ranked 176 p4p, 177 weight class). Tyson comes to the cage accompanied by Bad Pigs. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Albert Doom!
The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Roosa Järviläinen and Marco Blurström.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Doom tries for a takedown but Tyson circles away easily
and Tyson counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

It looks like Albert Doom has been cut.
Tyson misses with a hook.
Tyson throws a looping overhand right but Doom ducks down to avoid it.
Tyson jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Doom tries for a takedown but Tyson circles away easily

and Tyson counters with a nice right hand that sends Doom toppling to the canvas! Doom scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Tyson finish him?!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Tyson gets caught napping as Doom dives in and scores a takedown. Tyson manages to retain guard.

Doom is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Doom is fighting to break Tyson's control of his arms but Tyson is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Doom prevents Tyson from getting back to his feet.

Doom drops back looking for a leg! Tyson is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Tyson manages to kick Doom off! Doom jumps back into Tyson's guard.

Doom is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Doom looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Doom drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Doom jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Doom tries to free his leg and advance position but Tyson is retaining full guard.

Doom thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Doom has eaten all the pies!

Doom drops back looking for a leg! Tyson is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Tyson manages to kick Doom off! Doom jumps back into Tyson's guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Tyson lands with a hook. Doom tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.

That has opened up Albert Doom's cut even more.
Tyson is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.

Doom shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.

Tyson tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Doom has advanced to mount. Uh oh.
Doom can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Tyson is looking to escape.

Doom is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Tyson can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Doom is trying to take his opponent's back.

Doom goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Tyson turns into him and now he's in Doom's guard.

Doom is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Tyson will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

That was a close round but I would say that Fury Tyson will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Albert Doom's cut.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Doom looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
It looked like Tyson wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.

Fury Tyson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Albert Doom.
Doom avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Tyson throws a jab when Doom was well out of range.
Tyson connects with a good right hand that stumbles Doom. Doom circles away out of range and recomposes himself.

The cut above Albert Doom's eye is starting to cause him problems now.

Fury Tyson decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
