Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Darken Rahl (ranked 1755 p4p, 1096 weight class) and Flo Holl (ranked 175 p4p, 113 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 16 - 14 - 1, fighting out of New York, Darken Rahl!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Flo Holl!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, George Francis and Gwen Towbar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rahl lands a glancing blow to the side of Holl's head.

Rahl looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Holl!
Holl parries the strikes from Rahl easily there. Rahl is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Holl to escape.
Holl tries to improve position but can't.
Holl controls the position for a moment.
Holl taking punishment in the form of punches.
Holl is looking for a sweep.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Holl is trying to get back to his feet.
Rahl has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Rahl is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Holl's shoulder. That is not cool.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Check out the look on Rahl's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!

Rahl throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
Rahl works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.

Rahl looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Holl is trying to get back to half guard.

Rahl tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

Rahl wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Holl, who protects the arm well.

Rahl scores with a couple of short elbows.
Holl being controlled for a moment.
Holl manages to get back to half guard.
Rahl prevents Holl from improving his position.

Holl is looking for a sweep. Rahl is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Rahl is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Holl pushes Rahl off looking to stand but Rahl dives back in and keeps control.

Rahl is looking for a kimura but Holl is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Rahl to get the leverage.

Rahl seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Holl is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Holl trying to hold on to Rahl's head to control him but Rahl postures up.
Rahl definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Rahl throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Rahl working over Holl with some ground and pound. Holl looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Darken Rahl dominated that round.
That's time! Rahl's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Holl moves into the clinch.
Rahl scores with a nice hook to the head.
Holl tries a knee to the head but Rahl blocks it.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Holl.
Rahl is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Holl can do to turn this around?
Rahl has Holl pressed against the cage.

With the fighters up against the cage, Holl throws an elbow but misses.

Rahl tries for a takedown. No joy.
Rahl has Holl pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Holl manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Holl gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.

Rahl breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Holl cracks Rahl with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Holl fails in his attempt to clinch.

Rahl misses with a straight left.
Holl lands a lovely overhand right.
Holl pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Holl looks to land a body kick but Rahl moved away.
Holl takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Holl tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Rahl paws at him with a jab and circles away.
A big left from Holl misses.
Flo Holl is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Rahl scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
Holl tries to clinch but Rahl is having none of it.
Rahl keeps the fight on the outside.
It looked like Rahl wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Holl lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Rahl misses with an uppercut. Holl saw that one coming.
Rahl with a nice cross.
Holl misses with a series of wild punches.
Holl buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.

Holl swings away with a leg kick that misses.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

A momentary lapse in concentration from Holl enables Rahl to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Holl manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Holl looking for a sweep. Not yet Holl, not yet.
Rahl lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Rahl working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Holl's head.
Rahl wants to pass the guard but Holl is keeping the position.
Rahl postures up in Holl's guard and throws a big left but Holl blocks it.
Holl has his hands on Rahl's head, controlling the position.
Darken Rahl overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Holl is looking to sweep but instead, Rahl has passed into half guard.
Rahl trying to control the action but Holl is working from the bottom.

Holl desperately trying to maintain half guard.
Rahl is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Holl is not content to let Rahl control the position.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Rahl seems to be looking for submissions.
Holl is looking to control Rahl's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Holl avoid being mounted?
Holl is looking to escape.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters, thinking about a standup.
Holl is looking to improve his position.
Rahl works his way into side control.
Holl can't do much from the bottom here.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Flo Holl will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Rahl attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
Holl throws a nice outside leg kick.
Holl is looking to clinch.
Rahl swings for the body but Holl moves out of range.
Holl on the wrong end of a nice hook.
Holl scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Holl throws the kick towards the body but Rahl avoids it.
Rahl takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Holl swings away with a leg kick that misses.
Holl throws a leg kick but Rahl sees it coming and checks it nicely.
Holl throws a low kick but it's checked well by Rahl.
Rahl closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Holl misses the shot to the body.
A little feinted left hand from Rahl on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
A big right from Rahl misses.
Rahl is looking to clinch but Holl is avoiding it.
Holl moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
Rahl throws a nice looking combination but Holl bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Holl throws out a loose jab but Rahl uses good head movement to avoid it.
Rahl getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
Rahl moves out of range of the strikes.
Holl looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Holl throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Rahl blocks the body kick.
Rahl throws a looping overhand right but Holl ducks down to avoid it.
Holl raises up his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick.
Holl stuffs the takedown.
Rahl ducks right into an uppercut from Holl.
Holl tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Rahl manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Holl has been working his punching technique in the buildup to the fight and it appears to be paying off.
Holl throws a solid leg kick but Rahl takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Holl.
Holl throws a leg kick but Rahl sees it coming and moves out of range.

Holl gets caught napping as Rahl dives in and scores a takedown. Holl manages to retain guard.
Rahl stands up over Holl, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Rahl working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Holl's head.
Rahl in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Rahl drops back looking for a leg! Holl is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Holl manages to kick Rahl off! Rahl jumps back into Holl's guard.
Holl can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Rahl controls the pace.
Rahl loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Holl can't keep his opponent in guard - Rahl advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Holl has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Rahl is working away from the top position though.

Rahl is looking for a kimura. It's pretty deep but Holl still has the half guard so he's probably OK. Oh, Holl has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work!
Rahl is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Holl's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Holl wants to control but Rahl is keeping him busy.
Holl is stalling here. Rahl is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Holl seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Rahl has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.
Holl tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Rahl wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Darken Rahl.
I think Rahl has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
