The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mountain throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Mathieu throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Mountain misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Mountain throws a low kick but it's checked well by Mathieu.
Mathieu fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Mountain has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Mountain swings for the body but Mathieu moves out of range.
Mountain throws a leg kick that is checked
and Mathieu counters with a stiff right hand.

It looks like Tauski Mountain has been cut.
Mathieu throws a good cross that connects.

Mountain tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Mountain tries a low kick but Mathieu avoids it.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Mathieu wants to clinch up but Mountain keeps it at a distance.
Mountain pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Mathieu looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Mathieu has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.
Mountain walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Mountain fails to land with a series of punches.
It seemed like Mathieu was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Mathieu scores with a nice body kick.

A big right from Mountain misses.
Tauski Mountain seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Mathieu counters with a deadly accurate combination that rocks Mountain badly! He tries to strike back but Mathieu puts an end to that with another precision combo that knocks Mountain out cold! Oh man, Mountain will never hear the end of this one!

After the fight, Ernesto Mathieu was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
